I went and purchased several Eco Pro tungsten jigs. They looked great and in a moment of weakness....well, you know. But I also invested in a telescoping lure retriever. And with the cost of them, if these jigs snag, they ARE coming back to the boat, even if I have to go in after them.Hootie 1 Quote

Super User gulfcaptain Posted March 11, 2015 Super User Posted March 11, 2015 I had a hard time with the cost of tungsten, but after the last couple years fishing it. Other then dropshot weights, I try and go with tungsten. Even have a few of the jigs when I need a smaller heavy compact jig. Yes they cost more, but feel the rewards outweight the cost. Quote

Hootie Im too cheap to switch to tungsten as well but ive been tempted simply due to the lower profile size compared to lead. The plug knocker is the first thing we put back in the boat after i clean it (only time it comes off). Its the only thing in my boat that has paid for itself and done so many many times over. I broke my old one and didnt hesitate or regret spending $30 on a newer and better one!!! Quote

As far as the price, they are $4.99 at Tackle Warehouse where most standard lead jigs are between $3 and $4. More yes, but definitely worth it. 1 Quote

A bit lighter than lead, but equally effective, in my opinion. And a heck of a lot cheaper. There a growing number of bismuth smelters popping up all over on the net these days.
