hoosierhawghunter Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Does anyone have any opinions on the quantum exo 100s? I got one coming in tomorrow and id like to see what you guys think of them after using them. Quote
Cgrinder Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I dislike Quantum's ACS but I like the aesthetics and the ergonomics. Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted March 11, 2015 Super User Posted March 11, 2015 Have the EXO, and like them. Very light and comfortable to fish with. Have the high speed model and use for jig fishing. I have no complaints about the reel or the ACS system on the reel either. Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted March 11, 2015 Super User Posted March 11, 2015 I've had one for two seasons now. I love that it's light as a feather, and it palms well. It seems to be a bit noisy on the cast, but still casts very well. I'm thinking you'll like it. Quote
WdyCrankbait Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 If you dont like it, let me know. We can work something out. I like the reels, light, strong and casts A MILE! The spool seems to really run free so, be aware of that early on. I think you will be happy, great ergonomics on that reel. I have big hands and cups into my hand perfectly. 1 Quote
hoosierhawghunter Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 Got my exos in.... Very happy with how light they are. I spooled them up and FINALLY got them tuned in. Took me awhile. Talk about free spooling lol. But ill use them for awhile and give you guys an update. I should be going to the lake sunday so ill be able to post a review. But looks and a few casts in the yard make the reels seem pretty good. 1 Quote
0119 Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 I just bought 2 at 50% off at a local shop. It was a spur of the moment decision. Afterwards I found some negative posts on various forums stating the riveted foot will loosen. Maybe, I don't know. My old Ambassadeur's have a tack welded foot and have lasted decades fighting huge saltwater fish without a problem. Is a tack weld stronger than 2 machined rivets? I think a lot of it is simply brand loyalists who enjoy causing trouble. I got to say my arthritic wrist appreciates going to a reel that weighs 6oz. Compared to one that's 13 oz. If it lasts as long as the Quantum spinning reels I've had they will have paid for themselves in enjoyment. Quote
