bflow_6 Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Is there anyone pouring weedless football head jigs that would like to part with some that are 3/8oz and 1/2oz. Might be interested in some 14/oz too. I am looking for weedless jighead with hooks no skirts Quote
The_Natural Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 The best football head I've found is Picasso's Fantasy Football Jig. It has the bottom side textured, and a recessed line tie. There is a source that has the same mold for dirt cheap. I'll PM you the info... Quote
Nitro9 Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 I know this is an old thread. But I am looking for a jig mold to make jigs like the Picasso fantasy football jig in 1/2 oz and 3/4 oz. Does any mold manufacturer make one? Thanks for the help. Quote

Nitro9 Posted July 18, 2017 Posted July 18, 2017 Thanks for responding smalljaw67. I looked at this mold and it is similar, but not the exact one. I found a post from The Natural, he said he found the EXACT mold. Quote
Super User Munkin Posted July 18, 2017 Super User Posted July 18, 2017 The one Smalljaw posted is about as close as you are going to get from a hand pour mold. Looking up that Picasso head on Google I can tell you it is from a spincast mold. Allen 1 Quote

I found a post from The Natural, he said he found the EXACT mold. Picasso had that mold made, like Munkin said, it is spin cast and not hand poured. If someone for the exact mold it is either a custom that was made to copy it and is a one of a kind or it is a discarded spin cast mold. Most of these companies only have R&D capabilities, they use some type of CAD software and design the head and either use an existing hook or have a special hook made and then they send that information to a bulk manufacturer like cast industries to have them make a spin cast mold and produce the jig in large numbers. There may be a dozen or so know brands that spin casts their own products, but you won't find too many Do-it type molds that are exact replicas of marketed products. 2 Quote
