Best Reel Oil And Grease

I need some opinions and advice on the best reel oil and grease. I have considered using yellow rocket fuel for oiling but I also read about TS321 which is supposed to be really good stuff.  Also, which is the best grease for gears and etc.

There is no Best. The key lies in keeping parts clean #1 and lubricated with an appropriate product for the application second. Yellow rocket Fuel is good. I'm using some Tsi 321 with good results. Oust, Rem Oil and even sewing machine oil work fine and are easily obtained bearing oils. As for grease, a water resistant and corrosion inhibiting grease like a marine grease is fine or you can opt for a synthetic like Super Lube. Wet drags should get only drag specific grease like Shimano's or Cal's which can both do double duty on gears as well. A heavier oil works well on sliding parts and the level wind due to its exposed nature. There is no magic to any of this.

I've also been using TSI 321 with great results, and Magnalube-G for grease in baitcasters. For spinning reels the Magnalube is a little on the thick side so I've been using Shimano spinning reel grease on spinning reels.

I run TSI 321, Shimano grease or cals for the drags, and Evinrude Triple Guard for all other grease requirements.

I, too have heard good things about TS321. In my case however, long term lubrication is a priority and it's my understanding thar both rocket fuel and TS321 need to be applied regularly. The upside is neither attracts dirt the way reel oil does. I refuse to ever use HotSauce again because my reels looked like they had never been cleaned when I broke them down for their annual mid-season cleaning.

Rather than have two types of grease on my bench, I'll be going wth Cal's on everything once I run out of the blue grease (can't remember the brand).

The hot sauce grease guns up way too much. The oil works but the dye is a deal breaker for me. Cal's for everything makes sense especially for just doing a few of your own. The Tsi 321 is thin but is supposed to last well. Only time will tell on that one. There is some inevitable compromise between ultimate spool speed and longer lasting intervals. It's so easy to add a drop to the spool bearings though, I go as light as possible on the oil. Which brings me to another point: one drop is plenty and even the size of that one drop can make a difference in how the spool spins. This is way over thought too though. Just don't go nuts.
