WoW, Don't see to many people that sell off rods just to downgrade :drinking-10:   I'm just messing with ya.

haha I really liked the micro magic, they are really good rods for the money, but something about the avid x just gets me going :USA:

Was thinking about getting a standard 7 ft medium fast action avid. Anyone like the X more than the original?

l recently bought a 7ft. med. daiwa tatula and I like it so far.l was worried it was too light of a power when I got it but I think that's just the mod.fast action.l can't tell a bit of difference in sensitivity between it and my powell endurance.the build quality is excellent and with braid it makes a nice light t-rig rod. I had intentions of buying a duckett ghost but when I went to BPS to look at them some had cracks in the epoxy, guides were crooked even the duckett logo on one rod was partially missing.so I bought the tatula.i looked over most of the ones they had and they all looked very well put together.if duckett can tighten up on their QC they will be a hard company to compete with because I think their blanks are really good but until then i'll stick to my tatulas and powells.

It's a shame that you're discarding the ***, as it's the best blank of the bunch.

I have a Savvy 703 that I want to get rid of at some point. The build is excellent but the sensitivity is not there for a $180 retail rod.

The Tatula would get my vote but there's not really a Medium all-rounder in the line.

So I guess get a Duckett? Never thought I'd say that.

I agree that the *** blank does feel really good in the hand and they are very light.  But, have seen and heard of too many people breaking the tips off.  I witnessed it last year and I would never buy one cause of this.
