I was able to play around with a few in the tackle shop last week and really liked them. In fact I'm planning on picking up a couple at least maybe 4 or 5. I was also able to handle the new Shimano Zodias at the same time and I came away much more impressed with the Loomis rods.

I have the 820DSR, I bought it  to use as a ned rig rod with 6lb. flouro and so far I'm really impressed with it. The build is clean, it's light, and plenty sensitive.. I do wish they had used something better than aluminium oxide guides but as good as the rod fishes I can live with them.

I actually had the opposite feeling when I held them side by side.  I liked the Zodias better.  Again shows you how all us anglers are different.

I looked at a few at a tackle show and didn't put a reel on them to see how they balance so take this with a grain of salt, but felt tip heavy compared to other rods without reels. A well built rod, but nothing to make me choose it over any other rod in that price range other than the name. Never owned a Loomis, thought this might be my first, but nope.

Hope to have mine later this week. Looking forward to the reviews once guys have had

a chance to actually fish the rods.

I've been fishing mine hard for about 2 weeks I got the 7'5" heavy jig rod. my favorite rod I have ever used for jigs, got a enough tip to skip under docks but enough power to yank em out. I pulled a 3 pounder out of a log jam and brought in a log along with the fish. Its my first loomis and I will definitely buy more. I've caught probably 20 fish off of It so far and it sure is one bad dude.

Got to try one on Ky. Lake sat. ( my bro's ) although I'm not sure why he had it, he uses NRX rods.. I don't use Nrx myself, it's a great clean build, it's a very good casting rod, and has pretty good feel.. @ the money? I will be picking up a spinning rod! It was a 4 power rod throwing jigs & pork. I fished it for about 2 hours with a Daiwa Zillion on it. Has good balance on it with that reel.

With the expediter program.. I don't see how you can go wrong!http://www.gloomis.com/content/g-loomis/us/en/home/conventional/support/xpeditor-program-details.html

I want to try one, but was hoping to see some more reviews before making a purchase. I have money set aside to by a new rod this year, but I can't make up my mind on what to get, and then have to figure out what reel to buy for the new rod

What are the main differences between the zodias and e6x?

other than grip and reel seat

I am leaning e6x just because of the cork grip...i just dont like eva grips...they feel wierd to me lol

My 853 JWR came into my neighborhood Cabela's today and felt great until I noticed something seriously wrong with it - it was an 852. I ordered the wrong rod! So I returned it on the spot and ordered the 853c from my phone as they processed the return of the 852 I mistakenly ordered.

I was originally going to get an Avid X but wanted to try the E6x. I learned how to fly fish on a G Loomis fly rod. So while I'm a St Croix fan boy I have a place in my heart for G Loomis.
