Kevin Beachy Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Its so hard whether to decide to go to Walmart or just get this. The only way i can earn money is by washing vehicles around here, and to make it worse, i only have 50% of it to spend, and i am in the middle of school and i couldn't' get a job any way. I fight with the urge just to go to Walmart and get a few things or making a bigger order off tw. Its just SO hard to decide, since i only get $5 a vehicle, and the weather is so cold right now! Super User flyfisher Posted March 7, 2015 Super User Posted March 7, 2015 Get what you need and what is the best price not just something to appease you at this time. it is gonna be a little while before the frog bite is on so if the TW price is better, you would be better off getting it from there. Quote
Eccs Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 If the weather is so cold then why not wait longer till you make an order like that. You won't be able to fish them anytime soon really. I know it's hard for me to do too, but makes more sense. If anything I would pop over to walmart and slowly knock one thing at a time off that list. Makes more sense money wise and picking up one or 2 things every once in a while will help keep the bait monkey away. Quote
ColdSVT Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Cmon man. My nieghbors kid gets 12$ a car Granted at 12 years old he is already an extortionist..... 1 Quote
A KGB Operative Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Try walmart clearance first. You'd be amazed what you can finf there sometimes. 1 Quote
Dylcook91 Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Yeah man I think your getting ripped at $5 a car, I hope your not floating the cost of supplies aswell hahaha I tend to buy my gear offline as the stores around me don't have that great of a selection. Also they are cheaper online. Even if only a few dollors saved combined, that can be one more lure lol 1 Quote
Kevin Beachy Posted March 7, 2015 Author Posted March 7, 2015 I really think they should put spro popping frogs in walmart:) Quote
Kevin Beachy Posted March 7, 2015 Author Posted March 7, 2015 I really think they should put spro popping frogs in walmart:) I will probably just go to walmart and get a bunch of hooks, then later buy the stuff i cant get there off TW Quote
Super User whitwolf Posted March 7, 2015 Super User Posted March 7, 2015 Kevin, Patirnce young man. I'm sure you've read the several threads with regards to need vs. want. There's a ton of sound advice in those threads. My advice to you Is this: If at this time in your life you don't "need" something don't buy anything. I would save your money, all of it, and make one big purchase of the things you need some time this Spring. Quote

Super User Senko lover Posted March 7, 2015 Super User Posted March 7, 2015 Can you snow shovel?? I made 250 bucks in two little snowfalls here in NC this last week or two. That's my primary source of getting a lot of money fast. Yard work pays off but nothing like a snowstorm. 1 Quote
blackmax135 Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 I can get all those thing at walmart. I know no walmart has all the same things. But you get what you can afford. Might not always be name brand stuff but hey my mom bought me a frog like the spro bonzeye off brand name about 5 years ago. Cheapest thing she could find; hooks are rusted all up and I still catch plenty of fish to this day Quote

It is just that we arent a rich family and that is all my mom and dad can afford to pay me, so i am thankfull that i can at least make that much money! Quote

And yes, the other half is going right into savings!!! My parents were nice enough to buy a calf(we live on a farm) for me, and pay for all the feed and stuff, and then i sold it and got a fair price on it! I can't touch that money though(probably good). I have to admit i have a problem with spending money:( Quote
ColdSVT Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Listen. I had a friend in FL that used to detail cars. He used to detail my car twice a year to the tune of 250 dollars each time. He would spend 5hours plus doing it He spent a few hundred bucks on a nice buffer and an additional few hundred on supplies every so many weeks. Kid put himself through college and bought a lightly used pathfinder bayboat. he know works for a car magazine He turned 400 bucks into a college education and nice boat Quote

My driveway took around 10 hours because the ice was so thick and packed together. Had to use a shovel to break it up and then shovel it away. Quote

blackmax135 Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 God bless all you northerners cause I sure wouldn't want to deal with all that. Last year here in the lowcountry of south Carolina we got 1/4 inch of ice and were out of power for a week people acted like the world was coming to an end. It did cause a lot of pines to fall on houses and roads. Quote

If you have three guys with a metal shovel it helps. I'm an entrepreneur to the core. Rake leaves, shovel snow, clean weedbeds, mow lawns, wash cars, walk dogs, you name, I've done it. Never struggled for money. I'm just required to put away most of it. My mom doesn't understand my fishing "needs." She thinks all fishing baits go in the same category. "you just bought some baits! Why are you buying more?" 2 Quote
