Robeng Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 I have the Lowrance elite 5 hdi combo without CHIRP and like it very much. The Humingbired Onix looks real good too. also look at fishfindersource.com and the fishfinders.com and the gpsstore.com and bestfishfinderguide.net and justfishfinders.com and portablefishfinderreviews.com Those sights kept me busy for a while. good luck. Super User slonezp Posted March 8, 2015 Super User Posted March 8, 2015 859 series Humminbird. The standard and DI units are both within your budget. If you can squeeze out a few extra bucks, you can get an 899 side imaging unit for around $850 Quote
Comfortably Numb Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Best unit for the money. 7" screen https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/on-the-water/fishfindergpscombos/echomap-73sv/prod169422.html Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted March 20, 2015 Super User Posted March 20, 2015 If you can squeek out just a bit more, you can get a Lowrance HDS 7 Gen2 Touch for $900 with rebates now. They are really nice units and with their rebate right now, you can get it with the LSS-2 transducer so you will have side and down imaging. Quote
