BasshunterJGH Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 I can get a G Loomis GLX cranking rod for $370 and a Megabass Orochi XX for $300. Which one would you get? I haven't tried a GLX yet but I'd be curious to see how it stacks up against the XX in terms of sensitivity, balance, etc. Do you think it's worth it for $70 extra? Quote
Super User Tywithay Posted March 6, 2015 Super User Posted March 6, 2015 The GLX is lighter, has better cork, and better guides. Aside from that, I think they're pretty similar in terms of performance. The XX rods have much more versatile tapers. If you're looking for a cranking rod, the options are a little limited in the XX series, but they're plenty good enough that I wouldn't spend another $70. Quote
rangerjockey Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 The only xx cranking rod I own is the FSS.. It's a nice rod but not what I would consider a traditional crankbait rod , not as parabolic as you might expect. Given those 2 choices I'd personally spend the 70 bucks...but it's a close call. Quote
