I'm going back home to northeastern massachusetts roughly the first week of April. I used to catch lots of bass on my local lakes but haven't fished nearly as much the last 2-3 seasons. The tackle box I keep there is nearly empty, so I'd like to get a TW order ready for April fishing, and I'll make more as the season progresses. So my question is: what should be in my first order? I have a 7' m f spinning setup and a 6' m f baitcaster, and i predominately bank fish early mornings before work and late at night after work. So far I have my go-to's: 5' senko in watermelon/black flake, fat ikas in watermelon/black flake, and a bag of 7' tequila sunrise power worms. All opinions appreciated!

watermelon creme GYCB senkos and black and blue fleck are gold everywhere around here. I would throw some LL Howell creankbait in crawdad colors too. I am in the area you plan to fish and those two, along with a red spinnerbait are always ties up in early spring. Just hope the ice is out for your trip.

Thanks for the replies. I need to learn shakey head anyways, so this is as good a time as any. Never heard of LL Howell but I'll check them out. Can't say ive used watermelon creme but I used to make a living on watermelon black flake senkos and ikas. I'll be trying some wacky rigging this year too. Less of a trip and more of a move haha. I'm in the area from April-September every year.

Edit: Are the LL Howells that good? I had my eye on Rapala DT4s and 6s.

The first thing I would order is sun & warmth LOL     Jerkbaits, blades, lipless cranks,  jigs & trailers.

First week in April I would mainly be using a spinnerbait/chatterbait, a crankbait, or a jig. If I were to choose one it would have to be a jig. I am assuming that it would be a week or two after ice out given this harsh winter. The water will be cold. I am guessing still in the 40's maybe upper 40s perhaps even 50 if there is some warming. Anyhow every year with in the first couple weeks of ice out it is hard to beat the 3 lures I mentioned there as well as a jerkbait and even a senko. I cant stress it enough though early in the season a slowly worked jig is hard to beat. They catch big fish too.

I fish central mass like crazy. My tackle box so far for this year is as follows:

150 5 inch stick baits

75 2/0 Hooks

2 Grass jigs

1 top water frog

1 Bluegill Square bill crank bait

2 Shad poppers

1 swim shad rattler

2 bottles of JJ's magic dippin dye in chartreuse and clear

1 bag of Strike King Rage Craws because I haven't tried them out yet.

I can't stress enough the need for the weightless worm and grass jigs.

LL Howells single handedly got me back into fishing cranks. Scatter Rap Cranks work good here too.

I'd just add flat sided cranks, and craw imitations.
