Fired off an email to DVT about servicing my Chronarch D7's and Calcutta's. Got a reply that inspired confidence. Wanted to know if a bearing upgrade would make that much of a difference. Instead of jumping on the chance to up sell me, I was told unless my bearings were damaged there probably wouldn't be a need for it. I respect anyone who would forgo the extra buck to make sure the customer was given the right info. That's why next week my babies will be sent half way across the country for some much needed tlc. Once again Bass Resource comes through.

I've had 6 reels cleaned, tuned, and/or modified by Mike @ DVT. Just tell him what you want done and let him do his magic and go with his recommendations. His communication, turn around time, and pricing are great.

Yea, I had a similar experience. Mike is an honest and knowledgeable straight shooter. Only if parts are missing or damaged does he tell you what needs to be replaced. Does a great job on reels.

Thanks guys. I'm here as a Member and fellow angler #1 and a Sponsor #2.  Glenn deserves a lot of credit not only for the quality of the forum but the way he does business, which has created the atmosphere where this is possible. The moderators do an awesome job as well. It's my pleasure and honor to be here in both aspects. Thank you for your support.

Mike is a great guy and less than an hour from me!  I'm so lucky.  ;)

Got a few reels serviced last season.  Almost time for me to place my next order with him.

he straight up told me that overselling was not in his business plan.  i asked him about worthwhile upgrades/maintenance on 2 curado 51e's and a chronarch ci4+ and he came back with his suggestions, none of which included frilly upgrades to pad the bill.  good guy to work with.
