Got itchy today, saw I missed a package from I don't know who. Went to review my order on hud website...said backordered feb.5

NOOOOOO!!!! I ordered that same night they were available, like the rest of us.

Anyway, called them up today, he said not to worry, they were shipping out next week...did not say what day.

Only other info I got was, making them were taking more time than planned. Whoever the guy was I talked to was nice about everything. Told him I was excited and really looking forward to it. Invited him to check out BR. He asked to post to their fb page with feedback or reviews.

Just a friendly fyi, I know a lot of us are "sweatin" the mailbox. :)

I heard that they were going to start shipping out next week as well. Now I only wish there wasn't 3 feet of ice on the lakes so I could throw mine right away. At least they will be here for the spring bite.

I waited for 3 months to get a pair of Triple Trout "floaters" only to find they didn't float.  Waited another 2 months to get them back.  Needless to say I recieved them in Sept. when I ordered them in May.  Waiting another week for the Hudd Gill, I can handle that after what I went through to get the two TT baits I wanted.

Great news! Now the ice just has to melt!

You know they've shipped when all the "flippers" start selling baits on eBay. Great way to make your money back, every listing is twice the original price. : (

Got mine a couple days ago. Smaller than I thought it would be. Looks great. Will put it to use very soon.

My order was the same, but I just received the email that my order has been shipped, and I literally completed my transaction 5 minutes after the sale started. Might have to do with how many you ordered, and variety(?) I ordered one of each.

Got my two in. Little difference in light and dark gill. Prices they are going for on ebay I'm really tempted to sell. They look great though and look like bass will choke them.

Got mine today, put it right up on eBay and i already got some people watching it. The bait has nice detail but i can get 3 mattlures ultimate bluegills with $60 so... figured I would sell it. Im looking at the $60 range here when people start bidding as the bid comes to a close.

Bought for $25 I believe, going to make ~$40 off of it by flipping. Sounds like a good deal to me, and to the bait monkey too, who says that extra money could be put to use in a TW order :D

Difference is, Ultimate gills aren't weedless.

I know, that was just an example. Im not really in need of a weedless swimbait to be honest. In my eyes, i feel like its better to stick with proven swimbaits. The huddgill could become a legendary bait, but who knows. I really like the detail of the fins and the paintjob. However, when I got it it was surprisingly smaller than expected and I noticed the hook at the head would require the fish to really push it out of its slot due to the bulk of the body being in the middle. I honestly would be concerned about hookups too. Just my opinions.

All in all, I would sell a $25 bait for $60 any day.

The weedlessness of this bait makes it a whole other level of awesome though IMO.  It's small enough to not need a swimbait setup but you can bump 'er along the bottom like the deluxe weedless 68s even in the weeds and grass.  I have no idea why you would ever want to sell it tbh, especially this close to the spawn.

You can't land your PB on it if you sold it though lol

IMHO you can do what you want with the bait, but I'm not fond of "flippers". For the most part they're not good for swimbait fishing.

I hand my concerns at first about hook ups, but they're not much different than the other weedless hudds, and if I can set a hook on a fish with an 8" weedless, I shouldn't have a problem with the gill. Plus I always take a razor and lengthen the hook slot just a hair. I also read some reports and it doesnt seem to be a problem.

This close to spawn?! Ha! Hopefully prespawn will begin at earliest June. ;)

Good luck getting a Hudd Gill for less than $50 once spawn does come. ; )
