Penguino Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 I am looking to buy a spool of copolymer line for under 10$, for cranking. What would be the best choice? Quote

The Fisher Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Silver Thread AN40. Very sensitive, durable and on my spinning reel I get no line twists. http://www.silverthread.com/AN40.htm Quote

plumworm Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 Why, every time I answer a question like this, I go against the common ideas? I have used P-line cxx for forever. Strength to diameter best in the long line of co-poly lines. Breaking strength 35% above posted strength. Very little memory. Comes in whatever color you want. I just like cxx and have never had a reason to change. ( Now for my statement about not agreeing with every one else), I can take your best shots although My ego could be damaged to the point where I head to my man cave and sip copious amounts of very expensive bourbon. That will be your fault. Quote

Bruce424 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 I like mccoy extra clear. Very limp. Little memory. Strong line and Great knot strength 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted March 6, 2015 Super User Posted March 6, 2015 The more I think about these "which line is best " threads, the more I believe that it's like asking "Which brand of gas and what octane is best to use in my vehicle ?" They all work but everyone has a favorite which often revolves around performance & price. A-Jay Quote
