It appears that there's a boat launch to access the north side of the canal from US41 in Port of the Islands Marina.  The launch looks primitive, but my question is, is this ramp accessible to the public?  If it is are there any dangers in the canal when running it?  Also, it is safe to leave your truck there overnight!!!  I really appreciate any info/advice.

After more research this may be referred to as union road canal? If anyone knows anything about this place any insights are much appreciated!
