fishinphilly Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 I've been using beaver baits (no specific brand) for a while now, but I've never used the 3.5inch except for a subtle jig trailer, so is there anything else that you use it for? thanks Quote
hoosierhawghunter Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Caught many fish texas rigging it. Like the smallie beaver. Also can use it on a dropshot. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted March 5, 2015 Super User Posted March 5, 2015 The smaller version of this "type" of bait I use (Havoc Pit Boss) is a fantastic shaky head, and drop shot bait. I also use it t-rigged, for pitching/flipping/punching just as I would the larger baits too. 2 Quote

Bigchunk Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Ill second the pit boss, works good and good price Quote
DaveT63 Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 I caught some smallies on it on a 1/4oz jig head last year. Quote
Super User gardnerjigman Posted March 5, 2015 Super User Posted March 5, 2015 Rage Tail Structure Bug Casting, Flipping, Pitching, & Punching! Yes sir! Love it in a wobble head jig!!!! Quote
War Eagle 44 Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 As others have already pointed out this size works super on a shakeyhead as well as being just as effective punching mats as the larger versions. Some days the fish under those mats just prefer a smaller bait. Quote
Hogsticker Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 I'll use the smallie Beaver on a light 1/8 or 3/16 jig head tipped with a piece of worm for finicky trout. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 5, 2015 Global Moderator Posted March 5, 2015 I pour a 1/8oz swinging football head with a 2/0 EWG short shank Owner just for baits like the little beavers. Those paired with the Pit Boss Jr. are a very good looking craw imitation. Here's a couple rigged with a 3" Pit Boss and a 2.75" Craw Papi It was a great little rig early in the spring when they were feeding heavy on craws in the rocks. They work very well on a shakyhead, split shot rig, or a dropshot also. I use them as a trailer on my bladed jigs pretty often as well. 2 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted March 5, 2015 Super User Posted March 5, 2015 One of my top producers in 2014 was the Rage Bug Jika Rigged and as a trailer on the Chatterbait, Wobble Head and Rage Blade. Quote
Brian-S Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 For the smaller sizes you can't go wrong on a jig head or on a shakey head! You will catch a lot of fish that way! Brian 1 Quote
