That's not Sexy Shad, it's Charteruse Shad.

So why would you want a Pointer or Sammy painted with that pattern when you can just go out and buy it?  :-?

Basspro, wasn't trying to be short there.   Lucky Craft does have a Sexy Shad pattern but it's alot different than the other baits on the market.   They use grey on the back with a dark grey to black scale pattern, yellow lateral line, and brunt orange on the belly.

Not a hard pattern to paint.    Try sending an PM to Dampeoples he can usually hook you up.

Thanks BIG M do you think I can send hime a lucky craft and then him take the paint off of it and paint it or can the paint on a lucky craft even been taken off?

I'm not sure of the exact process he uses, but I would just sand it lightly with 320 grit, prime, and paint.   You are going to loose a little scale detail but not much.

Throw an X-Rap and save $10.00.Buy a good air brush and with some practice, you can have any color you like....

Ever seen the tutorial on how to make one of those Walmart renegade suspending lures into a good bait.  Basically take off trebles, drill a hole in the top front and the top back of the bait.  Dump out crappy plastic beads and replace with 3 bb's in front and 4 in back.  Sharpen a dowel to match your holes, and place in hole to fill it.  Seal, paint, and whollla 25 dollar bait for 2-3 bucks total even with great hooks.  There's a tutorial out there somewhere that explains much better.

Can anybody find this tutorial?  I'm very interested but I can't find it.

Believe it or not, I have tried the cheap walmart renegade baits, and actually had bites on them!  lol  They aren't that bad in quality, just cheaply made in China...  But how many of the baits we use, aren't made in china, or japan?!  lol  Jakall is made by a couple of Japanese brothers.  :D  And I think that lucky craft is also a Chinese, or Japanese company also?  Either way, all have the potential to catch fish, you just have to try harder, and hope that the fish will bite.

And as far as painting a bait in that color, why not try to find a cheaper alternative?  I have seen that on other baits, not the same exact paint, but close enough that you could just paint the yellow line on it, and call it sexy!  :o

What's your point

Woah there Japanese make much better quality stuff. They produce the best bass gear around. Don't be ignorant and mix the two up they are totally different in many ways.

I am not from asian decent this is just a view of the common ignorance in people :o

No, I wasn't mixing the two up.  Let me clarify.  The Japanese make some pretty fantastic gear, excluding daiwa...  Just have had bad experience.  But the Chinese baits are usually pretty good to paint over... lol

Not to hijack this thread, but I bought a spinning reel, read the box, "excellence is our priority" or whatever, and caught two smaller fish, and it whizzed and scraped after that...  Oiled it after every outting, and never did anything wrong.  Just crapped out.  It was a spinning reel, a 2000A spitfire.  Not an expensive reel or anything, but I just thought it would have been better.  Though, I had the same issue with a D-shock kit!  The reel on that also did the same thing, but I love that pole!  If I ever get it out of storage, and put another tip on it, that medium light pole is going to be back in my arsenal!  :D

Don't get me wrong, I love their poles, they are really quality, just figured the reels could stand up to catching a crappie, and a bass...

So, you never can judge a company, or country of origin, based on past experiences.  I love a lot of things that come from japan, they are a very intelligent, and foot forward kind of country.  I just had bad experience with one company.  I will not be buying from them again, unless it's a lure, or pole.  Their reels are just junk!

Ok, so you tired some of the cheapest reels they make and call it junk. Spend 80 go get a daiwa capricorn and come back. ::o Fyi the cheaper daiwas aren't japanese.
