Strothman Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Ok my partner and I have been pouring some baits for awhile now, we have came up with a "Chili-Craw" laminated color, the problem is, we don't like the whole top half of the bait being black. We have heard of painting them, but have no clue where to start. Our biggest issue is, do you have to dip them in clear afterwards? Because if so, we are not interested in painting them, we don't want people out on the water "skinning" our baits like the Shadilicious baits hahahaha Thanks Guys Shawn Quote
Super User Scott F Posted March 5, 2015 Super User Posted March 5, 2015 I just saw a Larry Dahlberg video, probably on Youtube, where he was painting some of the soft plastic lures he made. I'm pretty sure he put a clear coat on that kept the paint from coming off. Look for his videos you might get some tips. Quote

Dogmatic Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Don't want to start a new thread, and sorry for the "hijack", but does anyone know what paint to use to paint soft plastics, I'm talking airbrushing and such, swimbaits? Thank you in advance. Quote

Blues19 Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 You could look at getting some acrylic paints. Acrylic is pretty much plastic. Its worth a shot to add a little color. You can get a little bottle of cheap stuff at walmart for a dollar. Make sure you get glossy paint if you try it. 1 Quote
