Jsinkic Posted March 5, 2015 Author Posted March 5, 2015 My biggest largemouth 11-2oz & smallmouth 7-6oz. That is the biggest smallie I have ever seen! 5 Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted March 5, 2015 Super User Posted March 5, 2015 Spot fell a hair shy of 7lbs, and Largemouth went 13-3. Still searching for a 6+ Smallie David I'll trade you a 6-8 smallie & a 6-11 smallie for your 13-3 largemouth. 2 Quote
Super User David P Posted March 6, 2015 Super User Posted March 6, 2015 David I'll trade you a 6-8 smallie & a 6-11 smallie for your 13-3 largemouth. Haha, if it were 8lbs I'd take that trade in a heart beat! I have a 12-6 LM that I would be alright calling my PB for an 8lb smallie swap! 3 Quote
Super User everythingthatswims Posted March 6, 2015 Super User Posted March 6, 2015 23" smallie, lean fish, didn't even break the 5lb mark. PB largemouth is the one in my profile photo (24", no weight), but this photo was one of three times I have captured her in 2 years. Nice to have a PB living within walking distance of your house. Mainebass1984 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 The personal best thread seems to pop up about every month or so. I am always willing to post some big fish pictures. The fish in my profile pic went 8 lbs 9 oz. At the time was personal best until 3 weeks later I got a 8-10 my personal best at the time. Here is my current personal best 9 lbs 1 oz Although none of the fish are over the sacred 10 lb mark, fish of this size are pretty big for Maine. State record is 11-10. I don't really fish for smallmouth but my personal biggest smallmouth is 4 lbs 8 oz. 1 Quote
RSM789 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 My personal best went an even 8 lbs and measured an even 24". Apparently she liked to work with round numbers. She was set up about 15 yards away from a school of smaller (1 lb or so bass). I caught 6 of them in 7 casts and then after no strikes for about 3 minutes, cast to the side to see if they moved. I don't know if she was sitting there waiting for easy leftovers or was targeting those smaller bass themselves. Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted March 6, 2015 Super User Posted March 6, 2015 Mine was 10lbs 2ozs at Lake Commendero, MX My biggest in the US was 7lbs 14ozs at a lake in Kansas. this is why pics are misleading and the scales do not lie!!! i'm not disputing you one bit clayton, just saying that the one you caught in mexico looks so skinny to me i wouldn't have placed it over 10 lbs. and if you held those 2 pics up asking which weighed more i would have said the Kansas bass. but that's just me and my observation, others will surely see it different. the girth on the kansas fish just leads my brain to think it would have weighed more than the Mexico fish! either way, SWEEEEEEEEEET fish!! cbadra2 Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 I may have caught a couple just a tad bigger in FL, but this Potomac River brute and his little buddy were caught nearly back to back. It was late August and it was crazy skinny, but still went almost 8lbs on a light weighing scale. I can't image what it would have weighed earlier in the year... TAGGED FISH TOO! My most memorable day on the Potomac! 2 Quote

Both deceptive pictures. The Mexican bass was extremely long, 27" but only 14 or 15 inches around If I remember correctly. She could have easily been in the 13-15 pound range but was probably in her twilight of life. The Kansas bass was a tank, tall, thick, but not overly long. One of the healthiest and strongest largemouth I've ever caught for sure. 1 Quote
