*Hank Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Does anyone know of any good insider tube heads for 4in. Tubes? Thanks for any suggestions!.... Quote
Super User J Francho Posted March 3, 2015 Super User Posted March 3, 2015 Doesn't matter if they're 3" or 4", I like the Bite Me Big Dudes. Quote

Super User J Francho Posted March 4, 2015 Super User Posted March 4, 2015 Without. I don't like anything in the way of a hook set. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted March 4, 2015 Super User Posted March 4, 2015 I use a Mustad 90° 3/0 jig hook. Quote
Super User Angry John Posted March 4, 2015 Super User Posted March 4, 2015 I like the strike king tube heads. Quote
Super User Jrob78 Posted March 4, 2015 Super User Posted March 4, 2015 I don't fish tubes a ton but I like the Bite Me Flat Eye Heads when I do. Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted March 4, 2015 Super User Posted March 4, 2015 Not exactly a tube head, but take a look at Owners phantom tube hooks, I use these a lot when flipping tubes...hooks with weight attached by fine braided wire, great for maintaining a horizontal fall, rather than the typical nose down spiral Quote
papajoe222 Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 I use a wide variety as I like different line tie options for the different seasons, but one that I'm looking forward to trying out this season is a 'stupid' jig head I purchased off ebay. they have a quality hook and if rigged normally still give plenty of action to the tube on the fall. For a 90 degree line tie, I like Arkie's for the thin diameter hook and the price. for a 60degree, I've been using Venom, but prefer something with a lighter hook. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted March 4, 2015 Super User Posted March 4, 2015 I like the Venom heads in the spring, fishing tubes shallow on Finger Lakes. You kind of scoot them along the bottom, quicker than you'd think you should. Much different than deeper, tube fishing or the weedless flipping style. I forgot about those heads. Well made, with sharp hooks. Quote
Super User smalljaw67 Posted March 4, 2015 Super User Posted March 4, 2015 You do know you can slide a regular ball head jig up in a tube right? I use jig heads for tubes that are 3.5" and under, when I hit 4" I'm usually Texas rigging them but I know a lot of guys use an inside jig head with a 4" tube and it is usually a ball head with a 3/0 hook. Super User J Francho Posted March 4, 2015 Super User Posted March 4, 2015 Hooks on "regular ball heads" usually suck. Bite Me and Venom use a sharp, nickel plated hook. Quote
hoosierhawghunter Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 I pour my own. But they are like the stupid tubes Quote
