Thanks again guys!

Ronnie, with all the big baits being brought in from overseas and mass produced, I wanted to throwback to the style of the original big baits. Hand made, garage style. The only things that I buy are owner stingers, split rings and screw eyes.

I carve the gills in with a knife, not a dremel (even though I have a couple :D ) I hand make my own 3D eyes, tie my own feathers, pool test and balance every bait, and basically just put a bunch of myself into every one of them.

The guys like Matt(lures), Mickey (3:16), and Ken (Huddleston) are an inspiration to do it the right way, by hand, in America! I built the first one about 2.5 years ago when there wasn't anything like it on the market. But they have improved a bit since then :o. These and 8 more are already sold, to a new online shop, so I'll be getting started on some more tomorrow :)

I haven't forgot about you either, when I ship that rod back to you, there will be one of these in your choice of size and color in the tube.

Bizz, any chance that he will have that before Guntersville?  I would like to see it in person....LOL  :o

Great looking stuff you got there!!!!!!!!

it is a 2 part just like devcon.

yeah I do, might have to revamp it a bit. its not handling  30 ounces+ of baits at a time very well

Jay,

Find yourself a BBQ rotisserie motor at a garage sale or at Walmart and make a dryer. They will turn heavy weights slowly with ease and they are real cheap.

That is actually what I am using ronnie, but I made the mistake of not supporting the shaft, so they are wreaking havoc on the gear box.

Probably need a new one, oh well live and learn

Why that's a good question Wayne. I would not only like to see it in person, I would like to get some feedback from one of them 10lb Guntersville Bass, if you know what I mean.  Not sure what the top water bite will look like in March, but hey, they could get a warm spell & drive them mommas up in the shallows for some egg layin.  :o

maxdal,

just saw your question. Well, they are 3/0 and the bends are actually pushing the limit for what is allowable in freshwater in California. a 3/0 owner really is a big hook, they've  just got a giant bait on top of them :D

Pick your color ronnie :o

8" Weighs 3.75oz, got something that can chuck it?

That blue beauty at the bottom of your original post would be just fine. ;D

The Loomis Backbounce I built is rated for up to 8 ozs. With the Calcutta 400 I should be able to throw it. Now making it do it's magic might take a little practice, but what else am I gonna do. I have a couple of 8" Huds, ROF 5 & ROF 12 I was planning to try. They are almost 5 ozs. Nothing ventured nothing gained. :D

I would be glad to pay you for the lure, just let me know what you need.

Thanks for your prompt answer !

Well I guess we learn something new everyday ! Little did I know you guys had a size-limit for the bend of the hook in faraway California. We basically don't have such a thing over here, although we are not allowed more than two trebble hooks on the same lure in freshwater !

Do you also carve other types of lures ? Swimbaits, crankbaits or jerkbaits perhaps ? :o

BTW, nice to hear California hasn't seceded yet ! Ok Just teasing the Californians. :o

Yeah I have got 5 other big baits in various stages. A couple of them are fishable now, the others still need tweaking.

Jay I just noticed this thread. Those are very nice looking. I am honored that you mentioned me as an insperation. That is a huge compliment. My only advise to you is if your going to make a buisiness out of it you will NEED to be efficiant. When I started, It was soo dificult to make my baits I almost quit. I was litteraly making minnimum wage selling my baits at $15 each. When you do get something dialed in the most important thing you can do is create an efficiant system to producing your baits. What your doing right now is fun and exciting. I remeber those days  :D

Thanks Matt!

I hear you on the efficiency deal. I ended up making the same hourly wage on these as I did in construction, so I was really happy. But that was just these , ya know. A big batch was a god send.

I did take the time to make as many jigs (not the fishing kind, the pattern kind) for these as I could, took quite a bit of time to make them, but by the time I finished the first 15, I was probably back to even.

Wood is a nightmare for producing in quantity, urethane is looking really good right now.

I love my little IWATA though, talk about a tool that immediately skyrocketed my abilities. Anybody that is doing this with a sub par brush needs to get a good one!

Four Bizz,

You outdid your self.

They are simply magnificient.

How do they perform in the water?

We want to know if you get any hits or catch anything, too.

Great job. You may have found your calling and future employement.

Open up a Fourbizz Tackle web site and lets place some orders.

Threw a video up on the original post for you guys that wanted to see one in action :o

Think I should clean the pool? :D

Those baits are sick! You might want to clean the pool before Summer  :D Otherwise just start stocking bass in there and make it a big aquarium.
