Super User Oregon Native Posted March 2, 2015 Super User Posted March 2, 2015 Got to try out my new Ducket Ghost and Daiwa 1300SS this weekend. Have used the Daiwa's for years and love them but have never tried the Ghost's. Awesome...Awesome. Got the 7' med spinning and broke it in this weekend with smallies and largemouth. This outfit is a keeper and may have to add another to the list....maybe even a bait caster. Seems like a great value for the money. 1 Quote
Brandon Moss Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 After a little use, could you let us know if they still have the guide grooving issue? It's the only reason I haven't pulled the trigger on one. Quote
Lunker Chunker 88 Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I own two duckett ghost rods and fished them all last season and have never had any problems with the guides. They're awesome rods for the money. I recommend them for sure. Quote
Super User Oregon Native Posted March 2, 2015 Author Super User Posted March 2, 2015 Have a bud who has fished them for five years he says and no problems. Quote
cottny27 Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Yeah I think they have been out about 15mos. I bought one and plan on keeping the line & guides slicked up good with KVD L&L to help prevent this from happening. Quote
Super User Oregon Native Posted March 3, 2015 Author Super User Posted March 3, 2015 You are right .... just checked they were released in 2013.....gunna have a little talk with my fishing partner...could be interesting. Did notice at BPS that it was hard to find the spinning model on the shelf. Hope it holds up....sure like the rod. Quote
HookdUP Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I loved all my ghost as well ... And then I got a white and red one lol .... Now I don't buy grey ones anymore 1 Quote
EmersonFish Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I just bought the 6'10", M, Ghost casting rod to try for throwing jerkbaits, topwater, and maybe target casting little shallow squarebills and stuff like that. We'll see. I just don't have the funds for a Dobyns Champ 704cb or anything like that right now, so I thought this might get me by for a while. When we have liquid water around here, I'll let people know what I think. Quote
