Hey everyone, I've been researching this for awhile now, and I can't really find any medium quality cheap sling backpacks to carry like utility boxes. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm looking in like the 20-30 dollar range, carry 2-3 medium boxes and couple water bottles.

Thanks.

i used to use the bps bag which wasn't bad but it has no support for your back, but i put out a couple more dollars and got the cabelas backpack and i haven't gotten to use it yet but its 100% better but if your looking for something a little cheaper check out academy.com the flambeau kwirkdraw bag i have one like it for wading creeks for smallmouth fishing and instead of the 2 3600 boxes you could use 3 3601 boxes and they will fit but goodluck, let me know what you get

Abu garcia makes a nice little pack with a rod holder.

I bought the BPS xps in blue it seems to fit the bill for shore fishing. I could imagine that you'd want a nicer pack if wanting to endure long hikes hauling a decent amount of tackle though as they have no support other than from the boxes you store in them. Fits your price range just fine though.

Some great suggestions made already but I wanted to add if you have a Dick's in your area you may want to check for the Spiderwire sling backpack they had on clearance up until a week or so ago. The link on their website is no longer valid as they sold out but you might want to check in store. I think it was clearance for $24 if i remember correctly.

Field and stream makes the best one in my opinion. Padded backrest. Front indiiviudal pockets for sunglasses and for tools. Holds 3 3700 boxes.

I have the spiderwire sling pack and it holds quite a bit and is comfortable. Picked it up for $18 at Field and Stream. I wouldn't want more weight on my back so the smaller pack is nice.

I have a tactical back pack. Plenty of pockets and space. And built very well I believe it a 5.11. Look on la police gear for great deals

BPS had a sweet one which is on sale for $19.99 this past weekend.  Not sure how long that sales lasts.  It was camo and came in 2 sizes..

Just get a regular back pack a lot cheaper just because there not a "fishing back pack" and a lot more durable.

Love sling packs. When I'm standing in the river and I want to change something, a walk to the bank is a no. Pack light, don't waste time or motion and adapt quickly. You don't have to take it off, just slide it around and open it- acts as a catch basin too so you don't drop stuff. After river traipsing with a sling I could never go back. Cabelas, DSG and even a few other brand names have offerings in the $30 range that would do you well. It doesn't have to be fancy. Even check Amazon etc.

Like Ringing and Mumbly said look for the spiderwire sling I picked mine up last year at dsg for 25 dollars. It holds 2 smaller Plano boxes. Mines came with a spiderwire box already so I just picked up a similar sized box for it. I think I have around 25-30 packs of soft plastics in it I think and a couple of weight and hook boxes and some other stuff. Overall it's a very nice bag.

Could you guys post a picture of this spiderwire bag next to a yardstick so i could get an idea and measure my current utility boxes to it?

Dead on.   Can't beat a sling bag when wading or fishing from shore.   Been using some brand of sling my whole life, and that involves 28 years of river and stream fishing.

look at the spiderwire venom tackle bag, it's a really nice bag and dicks has it on sale now for about $30.

I bought the yens fantasy bag off amazon. I could fit two full sized utility boxes in it, and my box for hooks and sinkers. It has a front zipper pocket for my pliers, two pouches for my fish scale, and another pouch for my soft plastics. I highly recommend the bag. Literally only 13 bucks on amazon and meets all of my expectations, also could switch which side the sling is on.

I just use an old school backpack. Works good enough for me.

I wanted to have a sling for quick access. I didn't have one but this bag works wonders.
