I heard there were snakehead in the tradewinds park water system. Does anybody know if this is true? If so what should I use to catch them? And advice is helpful! Thanks ☺

i replied to your other post regarding snakeheads, the big one i caught there was on a okeechobee blue trick worm. Rigged up with a 1/8 ounce chrome jig head on 10 lb power pro. If I recall he hit the second it touched the water. I've caught them from using Senkos to flukes to pretty much anything. I don't target them though. They're just accidental catches. I do however kill them.

I was hoping this would be a thread on how in addition to the adult snakeheads walking on land for miles to eat your dogs and children, the eggs can be carried by tradewinds to new areas!

I don't fish for them any more.  Don't want to release them and don't want to kill a fish I won't be using for food or bait.  I just removed myself from the equation of not having to deal with it.

I respect your position in regards to not wanting to kill a fish just to kill it. I remember as a kid, I used to throw Gar and Mudfish on the bank. I would never do that now with those native species. However, if I had the opportunity to catch Snakeheads, I would kill everyone that I could for the sake of our native species.

If you catch one eat it.  (Before they eat somebody or something).

lol I would definetly eat one. I'm Chinese, so they are a native fish for us. My family has a few special recipes for those snakes.
