Aquaholics Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I have a tournament next weekend at TY park in Hollywood, Florida. I've been there one time with no luck. I know the lake has a sandy bottom mostly throughout and generally clear water. What baits and lures would be best for these conditions. Thanks for the help Quote
rchiuz Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 It's from the shore This might help you a little. I didn't have much luck the last time I was there, Just curious, what tournament is it? A local bass club? http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/109163-topeekeegee-yugnee-park-hollywood-florida/ Quote
Aquaholics Posted March 2, 2015 Author Posted March 2, 2015 It's a youth tournament for people under 18. The website is Www.bassfishingkids.com Quote

Gotfishyfingers? Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Do you think lipless cranks would work? possibly, I would throw a small one under a 1/2 ounce in a sexy shad color. Quote
HookdUP Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Possibly but I've never caught a fish on a lipless in fl ... Tbh Quote
HookdUP Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I'm telling U things that will win you a tourney in that place though lol especially a kids tourney .... You might. catch a fish on a trap but you WILL catch a fish on a fluke or ️x rap in ghost or shiner colors Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted March 3, 2015 Super User Posted March 3, 2015 Do you think lipless cranks would work? The crank may work, but it depends what the vegetation is like on that lake. If the lake has a lot of hydrilla, and you are limited from shore then that bait will not be the greatest choice. However there are countless other baits you can be using. Flukes, stick baits, trick worms, spinnerbaits, frogs, spooks. The list can go on and on. Take your time be patient and work the cover from different angles. Best of luck, have fun and remember to report good or bad. Quote
Aquaholics Posted March 3, 2015 Author Posted March 3, 2015 Thanks for the feedback! Will do after the tournament Quote
Super User BassinLou Posted March 4, 2015 Super User Posted March 4, 2015 Lol who has fished this place he speaks of ? TY Park is old park that's right off I-95 and Sheridan ST. I haven't been in that park in years. Quote
