I recently saw a soft plastic boot tail (swimbait) with a concave head (so it woiuld pop)....of course it floats and has a hook slot to make it weedless and the tail part was relatively short and very limber..

so it would give the swimming action of a swimbait when popped or pulled...BUT....I was unable to get the name of it...but it worked ...because with my own eyes I saw it catch approx 15 pounds

in about 10 minutes and with only 5 keepers ...AND he threw back 2 shorts....Can anybody out there give me the name of that lure>>>???...Lure looked to be about 4 or 5 inches long and the boot tail flopped all over the place...(musta been hinged or indented)...very limber tail...He was fishing it through a weed patch that was partially thatched on top....very difficult to get a lure over or thru it..

impossible for a hardbait...I tried some regular swimbaits  and was able to swim them over the mats but to no avail...

Might be the 3:16 lures Little Booger swimbait.  Looks pretty sweet.

Pop shadz doesn't have a boot tail, but it's also probably cheaper.  I don't even know where you could get one of those 3:16 Little Boogers.  They aren't for sale on their website.

Thanks Guys.....It was the 3:16 Little Booger,,,I recognized it immediately from the pic....Now if I could find a place to order them....!!!....any suggestions..???

Thanks guys.....I have the little boogers ordered....I'll let ya know if they are as effective as they were THAT day......I suppose that guy removed the treble and used a wide gap hook to make it weedless..

The lures will be here on Friday and we are going to Okeechobee on Monday...BTW that Fishbelly popping shad looks great....Wonder how I could switch tails and glue on a boot tail to give it that fish catching wobble...???

Did you already place the order for the Little Booger?

If you have not, add some of the 3:16 soft bait glue to your order and you can do the modification you mentioned.

The Pop Shadz are a copy imo from the Chug Heads that D.O.A. lures has been selling for years and very popular in the Inshore Florida scene as well as here in Tampa to Orlando Florida and apparently the Big O.

Most guys use paddle tail swimbaits and the CAL 4" is like the Bass Assassin Turbo shad which is great for Trout in saltwater and I use swim senko's, Keitechs, the 3.8 fats will fit, the reg size fits well, 7" senkos and huge flukes work as well as 12" Ribbons.

I don't like the pop shads only because they are limited in color and action and size where I can mix 7-8 colors with a Strike king Caffeine shad or even a swimbait and it acts like a keel, plus gives baits Eyes and you can add weight and it is something I have no idea why is not more popular. You can fish any bait back to the boat and find topwater bites you wouldn't normally know about...I know guys on the Big O use a lot of D.O.A. baits since the owner designs many of his soft baits for Bass specifically for Florida Bass fishing and the CAL flukes are killer in gold rush color and a black chug head...

here is a pic, you can find packs of 5 for $2 online and they are a solid investment. I find the zman baits cast better than I expected but if using a weighted hook they land upside down from time to time and it is not a swimbait where the chug heads enhance the swimming motion, the Pop Shadz are topwaters, similar to the pop frogs they have had out for ever but are super light.

These are legit

D.O.A Lures chug heads are great for any swimbait, or soft bait. They enhance many presentations, not sure how they are not more popular in other states besides Florida as far as I know. These are great with a swim senko or fluke, caffeine shad and cut tails are killer...big 7 inch senkos will ride the surface and enhance the appearance.

Plus they are cheap, you could buy 7 colors, have 35 texas rig heads for $15

THAT BAIT IS REALLY GOOD , IT SINKS IF YOU USE A SLOW RETRIEVE , BUT YOU CAN REEL IT UP TO THE SURFACE , ROD TIP UP , AND JERK THE BAIT AND IT WILL MAKE A GOOD POPPING COMMOTION  ON TOP , RESEMBLING A SHAD BREAKING THE SURFACE TRYING TO FLEE PREDATORS . THIS BAIT IS FANTASTIC THROWN IN A BALL OF SHAD OR OTHER BAIT FISH . IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT , HIT ME UP AND I'LL BUY IT FROM YOU ...

Shape like that forces wiggle. I guarantee you can walk the dog under the surface too. Just because it doesn't work the way you envisioned doesn't mean it doesn't work ;)
