A KGB Operative Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Hi. I was recently looking into mattlures u2 bluegill. Say compared to the live foliage swimbaits in crappie and bluegill color. Those go for three bucks, matt goes for 17. Is there a specific reason why matt is better other then lifelike views? Yes I know theres a youtube video on it, but I want to know if the live foliage would catch the same amount or close for the price. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 1, 2015 Global Moderator Posted March 1, 2015 I've never heard of Live Foliage swimbaits and can't find anything about them? 1 Quote
Mattlures Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Do those other baits sit upright when you let them sit on the bottom or do fall over? That makes a huge difference when fishing a soft swimbait, especialy if your going slow on the bottom or even more important if your bed fishing. There is a lot more that goes into a swimbiat then just the outside cosmetics. Of course the realism is extremely important to. I don't know what those other bait look like though. 3 Quote

Super User MarkH024 Posted March 1, 2015 Super User Posted March 1, 2015 If that's the right link Weld, which you're probably correct, the two in comparison are completely different lures. Quote

This lure may have the aesthetics, but for $3 I highly doubt it has the components and the internal properties that the Mattlures U2 offers. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 1, 2015 Global Moderator Posted March 1, 2015 That's like comparing a wildeye shad to a Hudd. 2 Quote
Matthew2000 Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 I agree. This lure may have the aesthetics, but for $3 I highly doubt it has the components and the internal properties that the Mattlures U2 offers. It's a pretty good bait I've caught a couple 4 pounders on it and it's held up perfectly. My Matt lures ripped pretty badly after a few fish and after using mend it it just didn't have the same action. The tail also was nipped at by a dink and there was a good chunk missing. So the live forage have better durability by Matt lures has better action. Pick one. Quote
A KGB Operative Posted March 1, 2015 Author Posted March 1, 2015 TW has them, they are live forage. Sorry guys I went to bed. Long day yesterday. Sorry! I'm asking things like has anyone used these, although they are three bucks is the durability better, action somewhat the same (I'm just looking for a little swimbait since the shellcracker G2 isnt avaliable yet for purchase ><) ps they are coming out with new colors sometime soon. (Their facebook account said so). I was watching the mattlures get bit in every shape and form but 17 dollars for something that could easily be torn or destroyed isnt my forte. There was a youtube clip where a user went through two in the video as the soft plastic part was destroyed on contact with fish. Quote

Super User F14A-B Posted March 1, 2015 Super User Posted March 1, 2015 Shhhhh I'm that oldschool. LOL, yea, lets keep it a secret, right? In the 80's they use to shadow the ship and pull our trash outta the ocean and sort thru it... Walker was arrested on the Ship @ Israel.. I was there, it was a trip! Quote
