Green Trout Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 I was pond fisjing today and came across to where I could see about 8 1 lb bass. They were very high in the water collum. I threw everything in the book at them and they could not bite. Ifor you threw a bait at them they would either ignore it or spook. Could this be a tough time of year with males guarding a nest? Any tackle you find works best on fish like this? Thans Quote
RustyShackleford Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 We had that happen last year at Hiawassee. Ended up throwing some weightless grubs and they hit them. Had to cast way past them to keep from spooking. Not the usual day on the river... Quote
Rhino68W Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Wacky rig trick work on the lightest setup available always worked for me. Quote

Super User Senko lover Posted March 1, 2015 Super User Posted March 1, 2015 That's a super annoying scenario. I've run into it a couple of times. Try a finesse worm. Drag it up to them and then dance it in their face. Quote
Super User bigbill Posted March 1, 2015 Super User Posted March 1, 2015 A small inline spinner like a panther Martin #4 silver blade with a yellow/orange fly a shot of scent. We get stumped at this time but it's time to dig deep in our tackle box of tricks. Never give up its time to regroup and attack. It's smaller natural colored baits. Rapala orginal floating minnow f7 blue or black, maybe a baby bass color? Remember if we can see them they can see us. Wear darker colored clothes or camo. Quote
Super User Catt Posted March 1, 2015 Super User Posted March 1, 2015 Some days they just don't bite Quote
