Set up is st croix mojo bass rod with a bps Johnny Morris carbonlite 6:4:3. I plan on throwing 1/2 oz lipless cranks and square bills on it. My question is what line should I spool It up with?

Yo-zuri hybrid in whatever test you usually use. I'm strict on my cranks and stay at 10lb. How many guys will say braid w/ or wo/ braid?

If you plan or ripping them out of submerged grass I'd say braid. Anything else flouro. Sunline makes reaction fc which will stretch more than other fc, which is becoming popular.

Pick what line you're most comfortable with and go for it.  I'm not a fan of braid with crankbaits but many people are.  My standard cranking line is 12 lb fluorocarbon.

For rattle trap style baits, I prefer 17 or 20 lb mono - whatever is on close out at Walmart this time of year, I get enough for the entire year.   The re-released Berkley Iron Silk is an excellent line for this kind of work.

Depends what kind of cover you're bouncing or throwing your square bills around, and what type of grass if any you're ripping your lipless baits out of...

I like 12-15lb fluorocarbon depending on where and what I'm fishing.

#8 to #12 Yozuri Hybrid or P-line Cxx, depending on cover of course..

I have used P-line cxx for all my crank baits for years. There stated weight is usually 30% less than actual breaking weight. 300 yard spool for $7.99? Good line for cheap.

Isn't that the stiffer of the two? CX vs CXX

I have a 10lb Fluro on mine now but I'm considering going to either 12 mono or 20 braid .. But I honestly throw most of my shallow cranks on my medium spinning rod lol ... And I have a crankbait rod on an e7... Just like it more for jerkbaits and deep cranking
