Greenbrier Angler Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Hey guys I recently got a good deal on a new rod the avid 6'3 ml-xf for 100 bucks new. I fish the New And Greenbrier river. I was wondering how this rod would be as a ned rig rod paired with pflueger supreme xt 30 size? Im trying to find some applications for this setup. And also I primarily chase smallmouth bass. Any advice will be greatly appreciated thanks. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 28, 2015 Super User Posted February 28, 2015 I have two of this rod. I use it for drop shot, exclusively. Both have a Syradic CI4 2500 spooled with 6# Tatsu. Quote

Super User S Hovanec Posted February 28, 2015 Super User Posted February 28, 2015 Small tubes and maybe light jerkbaits or shad raps. 1 Quote
Super User Angry John Posted February 28, 2015 Super User Posted February 28, 2015 Weightless flukes or small jigs. Would also be good on grubs and 4" worms. Quote
Super User tomustang Posted February 28, 2015 Super User Posted February 28, 2015 Skippin', stay in the lure range. Pointer 78s would be a choice for jerks Quote
wallie Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 i use the same rod for jigging walleye. this is the first time i heard of ned rig. i want to try it for both bass & walleye Quote
Super User Jeff H Posted March 1, 2015 Super User Posted March 1, 2015 I have one, use it for panfish and light finesse apps. Quote
