Jsinkic Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Hey does anyone know where I could get like 5 cheap rod gloves? Looking for 2 spinners and 3 baitcasters. All over 7 feet other then 1 baitcaster at 6'6". Thanks, J Quote
RustyShackleford Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 BPS. Their bins at the end of every couple of rows have tons in them. 5 bucks a pop. I don't use them, but the old man does. I fiddle around with sewing (don't laugh...) and made my own. Actually cheaper than the BPS ones. The BPS do hold up. Had his for a couple of years. Quote

What material do you use? Sewing a pair up wouldn't be that hard and I would think pretty d**n cheap. Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted February 28, 2015 Super User Posted February 28, 2015 The ones at BPS aren't that bad. Picked some up to try and actually really impressed. Def helps keep the tangles down when storing them. Quote
DaveT63 Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Look up rodcondom.com. I've been pretty impressed so far. Quote
Super User Chris at Tech Posted February 28, 2015 Super User Posted February 28, 2015 They're only $5-7 bucks a pop at TW so now really sure how much cheaper you're going to get them anywhere else. Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted February 28, 2015 Global Moderator Posted February 28, 2015 The cheapest ones made are the BPS brand. IMHO, Rod Glove and Stick Jacket are made much better, especially how the tips are designed. Mike Quote
RustyShackleford Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 The tips on the BPS models are just fine. Don't jam your rods in your storage and they'll last. And I've currently using fleece. Mom had a roll she wasn't using so old man and I "liberated" it. Applied a waterproof outer like Columbia uses on their blood and guts pants, they're prefect. Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted March 1, 2015 Global Moderator Posted March 1, 2015 Yeah, Rusty I know. Like I said, IMHO The other 2 are made better. Mike Quote
RustyShackleford Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 And on that note, buy premade. Did the numbers and mine came out to roughly $10 a pop. They'll never scratch a rod, but it's not like my rods are over $100. Quote

Super User lmbfisherman Posted March 1, 2015 Super User Posted March 1, 2015 BPS ones work just fine. I prefer Rod Glove though. Quote
Super User tomustang Posted March 1, 2015 Super User Posted March 1, 2015 The bps $5 ones are OK. I've had some of the ends peel apart, if you have a smaller guide tip it'll stab right through at times. Quote

Blues19 Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Walmart just started carrying them where I live. I got a Casting and a Spinning and after looking at the Bass Pro and Walmart ones, they seem darn near identical, except the fact that the Walmart ones are $3. 1 Quote
