Super User flechero Posted April 22, 2008 Super User Posted April 22, 2008 We always talk about stealth rods and 99% of the time they are black on black on black... or substitute one black for a gray. ...lol I had a warranty blank that came in cobalt blue and all the components are scrapped off the other rod- so there are a few little marks on guides and the seat and plug- which means it woud never be perfect... so I thought why not try blue stealth just to have a little fun on my "freebie" rod. I like the way it turned out. It's elegant but in an "all business" sort of way. ...lol It's a CTS blank (EBT825 6'10" H, F) I have a new Premier just for this one. It's a super light, but stout combo. The camera played a trick in that the thread color melted much closer to the blank color than you can see in the pics... the macro lens really picked up the difference better than the eyes. Quote
Super User .dsaavedra. Posted April 22, 2008 Super User Posted April 22, 2008 that looks SWEEEET! i think it would look better if the front grip was tapered a little bit though. Quote
Super User Jimzee Posted April 23, 2008 Super User Posted April 23, 2008 Man that thing is clean looking! Awesome job on the guide wraps. It don't get no better than that. Love the cork too. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted April 23, 2008 Posted April 23, 2008 Thanks for making that rod for me for my birthday. That was very nice of you. LOL Very nice Fletch Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted April 23, 2008 Super User Posted April 23, 2008 Yep, she's a beauty! 8-) Quote
Super User .RM. Posted April 23, 2008 Super User Posted April 23, 2008 Keith, Had to steal the image and place it in my PSP to lighten it up some for my eyes. Is the blank deep blue and the wrap black w/o CP? Great job!!!!! Tight Wraps!!!!! dsaavedra. that looks SWEEEET!i think it would look better if the front grip was tapered a little bit though. That's the good part about custom builds (especially when you can take measurements in person) that grip is built to his hand, not for the b ling effect that most anglers seem to purchase more for, than functionality. The fact that the guide wraps are pristine, is the b ling factor... Tight Lines!!!! Quote
Super User flechero Posted April 23, 2008 Author Super User Posted April 23, 2008 Thanks for the compliments. And Happy B-day, GMAN! David, The blank is cobalt and the thread is actually "dark blue" nylon (Gudebrod #246) w/o CP. In 'real life' it's a two tone blue, but my camera sees it a little darker than the eyes do. It's hard to get enough lighting to show the colors properly but not get a glare. ...lol Quote
Super User .RM. Posted April 23, 2008 Super User Posted April 23, 2008 I was doing Royal 0245 and Cobalt 0050 w/o CP, on gloss black blanks for awhile. I like it.. Great color combo for stelth... Quote
Super User flechero Posted April 23, 2008 Author Super User Posted April 23, 2008 I have always liked blue and cobalt blanks the best... I wish all blanks were available in colors. Here is one you've seen before, it's an SCIV with Cobalt nylon (#050) w/o CP. Quote
Triton9 Posted April 25, 2008 Posted April 25, 2008 that rod looks awesome, keep up the good work! Quote
