I have a Gander Mtn Vortex 6'6" MH casting rod and it is a X/F action. What should I use it for? I was thinking skipping jigs, close-cover spinnerbaits, and shore fishing. Any other ideas?

Jigs would be ok but I would use for weightless senko and any other T-rig stuff.

I was thinking plastics, too. And for jigs I would only skip docks with it. I have a different rod I like better for jigs.

How bout you write a review for it? It looks like a good rod, and I am pretty interested in it.

I just picked up two of them @ $20 ea. Salisbury ,Md. Haven`t used them  much do to the hard water, but the little bit I did get in with them suited me.Not sure they would handle a heavy spinner bait well.Jerks and jigs will be the primary use.

Haven't used the casting Rod yet. I do have a spinning rod, and it is pretty nice.

The blank is sensitive, but a little bit brittle. Probably not the best for spinnerbaits.

I've got one that I use for jerks. Short rod, short handle. Gives good action.

I would use it for weightless 5" Senko's , perfect for roll casting and skipping to close targets. I'd also use flukes with it, and northern style swim jigs.
