Topwaterspook Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 It was very sunny today with almost no wind, it got up to a high of 16 degrees. After all the bitter cold weather we've been having, I saw quite a few folks driving around with their car windows down. Boy, how perspectives change !! Maybe Spring is actually on it's way. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted February 27, 2015 Super User Posted February 27, 2015 LOL. 16 degrees is still pretty cold but I guess it's all about what you are used to. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted February 27, 2015 Super User Posted February 27, 2015 I would really appreciate anything above zero at this point. Pfft - at 16 I'm heading out in nothing but a Jock Strap & a Sailor's Cap ! There's a image for ya . . . A-Jay 1 Quote

Super User Scott F Posted February 27, 2015 Super User Posted February 27, 2015 People who drive with their windows down in cold weather are usually smokers. Quote
tipptruck1 Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 People who drive with their windows down in cold weather are usually smokers. I don't smoke and I do it. Even on the hwy doing 70. Last winter when it was below 0. I still had my window open about 1/4 of the way. I do it to prevent dry lips and bloody noses. Plus it feels nice to get some fresh air once and a while. Quote

Super User Scott F Posted February 28, 2015 Super User Posted February 28, 2015 I guess I should have said that "People who drive with their windows down in cold weather are usually smokers except for the lunatics" I'm driving around the city and suburbs about 4 hours a day and when I notice someone with their windows down or cracked open, a cigarette will usually be tossed out the window or ashes flicked off within a short time. Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted February 28, 2015 Super User Posted February 28, 2015 That ain't nothing. Try doing 80 down the interstate for two hours on a motorcycle when it starts getting around 20 and lower. Aside from your fingers going numb it's very peaceful. Wind knocks 20 degrees off the temp in no time. I've ridden in the rain and our one single day of snow thus far. Temps dropped down to 10 degrees and I still went out riding. Yall Yankees amuse me... BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted February 28, 2015 BassResource.com Administrator Posted February 28, 2015 Looks like another sunny weekend in the upper 50's for me. Next weekend, it will be in the 60's. Not that we ever really have better weather than the rest of the country. So...bizarre WX for us too, honestly. Warmest winter ever on record. We've broke 8 high temp records since Jan 1 already. Quote
Super User Oregon Native Posted February 28, 2015 Super User Posted February 28, 2015 Sure hope you all don't pay for that nice weather out west this summer. Heading to the lake today after my grandsons basketball game...it's been two weeks since I've been out. Hopefully I can tell a bite from being so excited and shaking Quote
Hyrule Bass Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 i drive with the window cracked all year long, while im running heat or a/c. i just like that fresh air coming in and it keeps things circulating... a couple weeks ago, i was on the way to work and was going through the mountains at the WV/VA border over the Shenandoah River and my car said it was -4 degrees out, the river was also frozen... Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted March 1, 2015 Global Moderator Posted March 1, 2015 I get as tired of being stuck in the house as my dog does, so we go for drives sometimes, usually to one or a couple of the local lakes. I'll always let her get her "window time", in once the truck gets warmed up so I don't freeze myself. I don't know how she sticks her head out the window when it's that cold out but she loves it.
