rboat Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Is the bore snake a good way to do a quick cleaning at the range on a pistol or when you are short on time for a full cleaning? Anyone use these? Thanks Quote
Super User Hi Salenity Posted February 27, 2015 Super User Posted February 27, 2015 They are the best invention ever made for cleaning a barrel! Period Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted February 28, 2015 Super User Posted February 28, 2015 I find them very handy for stuff that is not easy to clean from the breech end, esp M1 Garands, M1 Carbines, 10/22's, etc.... Pistols, bolt action guns, AR-15's I still use a cleaning rod. Quote
Smokinal Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 They are the best invention ever made for cleaning a barrel! Period Yup yup. Great if you shoot one day, know you are going to shoot again soon so you don't want to do a full take-down, run the snake through a couple three times and wait for the next shoot. Quote
troutbum1 Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 I use them, I like them for a quick clean for at the trap range, spt clays range. I bring one for a 30 cal in a small cleaning kit for hunting. Once they get dirty, you can wash them . That's only for a fast clean. There s nothing like a full cleaning with a good rod, an solvent if your not shooting right away. Quote
I.rar Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 They need to be washed/cleaned after so many uses but they work for a quick clean. I like the otis kits. Quote
NCBassAssassin Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 They are great, perfect for a day in the field hunting Quote
