Super User scaleface Posted February 27, 2015 Super User Posted February 27, 2015 The old green Cardinals are the best looking spinning reels ever . Quote
powerduster Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Not for me. Too flashy. I do like the bobtailed looks of the ultralight Pflueger President line. I do not like the fact that they're made in China. Currently looking for an UL reel made elsewhere, say the USA, France or Sweden. Probably should check out Abu Garcia for that. Josh Abu garcia doesn't make spinning reels in Sweden anymore, let alone an ultra light. Quote
Josh Smith Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Abu garcia doesn't make spinning reels in Sweden anymore, let alone an ultra light. Well crap. I was hoping they still had a Swedish line, like some of the baitcasters. Josh Quote
Super User FishTank Posted February 28, 2015 Super User Posted February 28, 2015 Maybe a decent reel but it reminds of the Wave spinning reel. More gimmicky than usable. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted February 28, 2015 Super User Posted February 28, 2015 Abu garcia doesn't make spinning reels in Sweden anymore, let alone an ultra light. That's true. It doesn't make any difference who or where a reel is made as long as it's made right. I have 4 Abu sorons all made in China, they perform as well as anything else I own. They're smooth on retrieve, never a problem with the drags, and have stood up to saltwater for years, I don't know what else I need a spinning reel to do. Quote
timsford Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Well crap. I was hoping they still had a Swedish line, like some of the baitcasters. Josh You could go daiwa or shimanoand get one made in japan. I think only the higher end ones though. Or if you dont mind used find a daiwa tournament ss made in japan. Definitely not flashy but will last forever Quote
Super User lmbfisherman Posted February 28, 2015 Super User Posted February 28, 2015 Well everyone has the right to express their own opinion. That to is not even close for me. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 28, 2015 Super User Posted February 28, 2015 Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but beyond that, I don't think the company has any history of producing a high quality product. Quote
