ok so i been looking at them for a while now and found the one i want but for the guys that have this system does it work as good as they say it does.

I have a Hydrowave Mini, does the same thing as the big one just not as many sounds. Have tried it several times and seen no change in fish numbers or did it ever increase the bite on a slow day. Had to get three of them before I got one that worked, that was a real mess but I wont go into that!

I've used one with the kvd sound package for about a year now. First impression was it was kinda gimmicky. decided to give it a chance and used it for a while and still am. My take on it is it can be a very good "TOOL". By no meens is it a be all end all.

I mainly run two sounds, the power pattern and schooling shad. My go to techniques are spinner and chatterbaiters. I do see on my graph that while I have the power pattern playing that I get a lot more marks rising under the boat compared to it being off. Now does it translate into more fish??? I feel it gets the bass at least curious to the sound and give me a better chance to possibly catch them.

During the winter I used the schooling shad sound over 40-50ft depth and saw again

marks rising in the column and was able to catch them on dropshots ( by far my worst technique).

So my verdict is I will continue to use it. I do think it helps at least draw some basses attention and gives me a better shot to land them. I don't use most the sounds on it( I'm a power guy and there's quit afew finesse sounds) but am going to experiment more with it this year.

A cheaper and same idea is available in Livingston lures. I had a square bill crankbait that I did catch a few good fish with until I lost it, I assume to something with teeth. They make a electronic  produced noise, much like the hydrowave, but it will attract the fish to the lure. I bought another one, but the weather turned to crap right after that and I have not used it yet. They explain how they work on there website, and they are readily available.

Iv'e wondered about the Hyrowave, myself. Haven't met anyone in my area that has used one or knows anything about them. The premise sounds interesting but it's hard to part with a few hundred bucks for something that might, kinda, sorta ,maybe work. Or not.

Livingston lures worked right out of the box on lake st clair last year.  Next outing nothing--but not too much was biting that day wherever I went.

I bought one of the first Hydrowaves released several years ago.  I pre-ordered one before they were even released to all the Elite Pros. My serial number was 0000026 !   I can definitely contribute some of my local tournament winnings to my Unit. There are days where it definitely makes a difference and then there are days where it does not seem to help.  I have even had a Musky come up and strike my trolling motor head in murky water!  If the fish are feeding on schools of baitfish then yes I think it helps, if they are feeding on craws then not much help.  I do think it can help cover other spooking noises like sonar ticks and trolling motor sounds in shallow water.  If you question whether it is the real deal just go to a BASS event and walk down the dock.  You will see a Hydrowave on the deck of every pro and it is not because they are all sponsored by Hydrowave.  When I first got mine and they were not being advertised I kept mine covered with a Cabela's sonar cover just so guys would not ask me what it was on the deck.  :-)  Only a couple of guys would notice the speaker and ask what that thing was on my trolling motor. It has definitely paid for itself in winnings even just fishing local evening tournys.

I met the Hydrowave guys at the Classic last month and asked them for a tip or two about using the unit.

The best tip I was given was to lower the sound.

A "1" is good to go most of the time.

I still have my old BSX unit and it works fine. I will now lower the volume from 8 to 1 and give it a try.

As for attracting bass?  I have no idea. I may have had the sound too loud and spooked them away.

hmmm interesting wonder why they would even allow it to be to loud? good to know thanks
