Hey guys I want to buy some weighted hooks to try out this swimbait. Gamakatsu swimbait hooks come in different weights and sizes. Would you use a 3/0 hook 1/8oz or a 4/0 hook in 1/8oz? Ill be throwing these around shallow docks so I thought the lighter weight might be better, or would you suggest the 1/4oz?

2/0 or some of the smaller 3/0 hooks (vmc)

Of those choices, I would use the 3/0.

I like the 4/0 better on the 4.8 Keitechs.

Ok thanks guys! What size weight should I use?

Shallow dock fishing would not warrant much weight. I would use the 1/8 oz weight. These soft baits has some good weight in them. Plus you will have better action and a more natural swimming action with the lighter weight.

Try them on a swim jig as well!

These baits wiggle seductively even with the slowest fall. And they cast pretty well. No need to go above 1/8 oz.

Don't know if anyone already mentioned this but for 3.8" Keitech Swing Impact Fats, I only use 3/0 1/8th oz Eagle Claw Weighted Swimbait 60 degree hooks with the spring-lock.

3/0 1/8oz if you are going to use a weighted hook

BUT I agree with DVT on the straight ball head jig. 1/8oz.

Rhino turned me on to these on last year's Roadtrip.....he was tearing them up. I soon followed his lead and we did so well we had to place an order with TW and have more delivered to our cabin.. lol..
