I fish small texas rigs on my 6'8" MH X-fast Powell 683. It's just a touch heavier than a medium, but not a true medium heavy.

I use MF, MXF, and MH for TX rigging. 6'6" is

the longest I currently fish.

Sounds like medium heavey is the rod of choice

It all depends on the cover you're fishing and the size of t-rig

A 7' MH is the best all around IMO.

The Loomis GLX853C JWR has long been the standard that other worm rods are compared to.The rod is: 7'1", 3 power med/hvy, fast action. The Loomis 3 power is closer to a Dobyn's DX704C 4 power heavy, power ratings are not equal between mfr's.

You need to be able to effectively cast 3/16 oz weight with a 6" worm up to 3/8 oz weight with 9" worm and get a good hook set using 3/0-5/0 size worms hooks using 12-15 lb test line.

Your budget determines exactly what rod you can afford.

7'mh/f is generally the answer. Its what I use. I like a little more spring in the tip than my jig rod. ... but that's subjective/ personal preference.

I use a 6'6" H with a fast tip.  I like some backbone fishing in heavy cover.  You may not always need it, but it is good to have just in case.
