Here in Clearwater I've been to 2 different Wal-Marts and they've had "Promo" spinnerbaits for $1 each. Some are buzzbaits, but most are just plain multi-colored spinnerbaits.

Not name brand, just cheap and simple, but you can't go wrong for a buck.

I picked up a handful to use in places that I'd second-guess throwing a $6 bait! :)

yeah, last year i found some on sale for $0.25 and bought about 90 of them in different colors, I use them in places where I wouldnt want to throw and expensive lure during practice or fun days, and I also use the blades and skirts for other lure projects as well.  Not a bad deal and good luck.

Now that's a deal.  Gonna have to keep my eyes open.

I have a lot of the walmart $1 spinnerbaits.  They work just as well as the other spinnerbaits I've fished.

I used to buy those $1 spinnerbaits at Wal-Mart and never caught one single fish on em, I fish Strike King mainly, alos Booyah and I have a sponsor who builds custom spinnerbaits that are pretty good as well. In my opinion quality counts a whole lot when it comes to spinnerbaits.

I have used the cheap walmart brand dont care for them personally seems like I spent more time bending them back into shape to run straight than I did fishing with them.

I have used them and caught lots of fish on them.  I truely haven't noticed much of a sacrafice in quality compared to other companies.  That is just my opinion through my experience.   Of course everyone of the ones I bought from walmart I have since modified.

I've caught some nice ones off $1 spinnerbaits from Wal-Mart. The only downside is that they are all silver blades. No gold.  :-?

They are really good. I like to put two of the skirts on one spinnerbait gives it a bigger profile and just makes it look a little better.

Saw some Strike King spinnerbaits at Sports Authority today for I think $1.50.  They looked better quality than the Wal-Mart ones.  Might wanna check you guys' SA's now.

i think they are a great deal....they dont hold up as well as some, but still a great deal. they have better detail on there heads than alot of other brands.... who knows, im a sucker for sale tag i guess, i even find myself looking in the .99 cent box of soft plastics at walmart, sometimes you can find some good stuff there too...    Since i got married last August ill take any deal i can get...haha :)

I love buying stuff on sale or cheap, grab bags at a very small tackle shop close to me to clearance Items. I have never had a fish ask me what I paid for it!

this is just one person's experience.  but, my wife picked up a few of those $1 spinner baits prior to a fishing trip a couple weeks ago.  she caught a 2 lb largemouth with it, and I was thinking, "man I wish I would've picked up a few more of them."  then, a little while later she caught another bass, this time it was a small mouth, about 1.5 lb.  she got it up to the boat, and just before I could lip him, he jerked and broke the head, body, and hook right off the bait.  We haven't thrown another one sense.

Every time I go into to wal mart I grab a few of those in the colors I do not have.  The colors I do not like, I swtiched out the skirts and blades to something I like and fish the stew out of them.  If I didn't have to add weight to the arm, they would be awesome, but I catch fish on them.

All I can say is sharpin the hook before you tie it on. I lost a 4 lb'er and a 6 lb'er (est) right after. I refuse to use them anymore. You get what you pay for. :)

This is so true you do get what you pay for.

I bought several of these last summer.  They are not as well made as some of the more expensive ones - the wire is lighter and the skirts are not as nice a quality - but I have used them successfullly and caught a bunch of fish on them.  I have no complaints, for a dollar they're hard to beat and if you lose it, doesn't hurt as bad.

i got a few and didnt like them...im now willing to spend 4 or 5 more dollars to catch a nice fish, though high price doesnt always mean you'll catch more fish, it almost always assures better quality

I cant tell you how many booyah spinnerbaits I have broken after just one fish.  Terminator is the best quality, but you pay for it.  IF i was just messing around somewhere, not really going for a lunker or in a tourny, wal mart baits are fine.  in any other case, forget it.

The main problem I've noticed with "bargain" spinnerbaits is that the swivel that attaches the blade to the wire is usually not very good.  Hold one up and flick it and see how well it spins, then hold up a Wedge or a Terminator and see how long it will spin with their high quality barrel swivels.  The wires usually seem sort of flimsy too, but sometimes that can be an advantage.  I'm not going to lie, I've caught plenty of bass with them. :)

seems to me the popular consensus is that they are good for parts like blades and skirts... so let me ask is the main problem the wire or the head, or both?

They don't have ball-bearing swivels
