bass1980 Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 I just want to say thanks to the members here that are always willing to share their wealth of knowledge and also help other members. I have been telling myself that I need to stop surfing BR and tone down on post as it's becoming a bad habit since I keep sneaking around on my smart phone while at work with this site. I do want to give out a special thanks to Brian aka "a1712". I had an issue with my Shimano Cumura spinning rod where the lock nut/handle snapped in half. Shimano refused to warranty the rod because they said there is no way it was a defect. It turned into a nightmare as they attempted to find more excuse to not own up to their warranty but I don't want to get into specifics as I don't want to make this a bash thread. I'm still a Shimano guy and have their products and apparels. If anyone is really curious I can tell the story through PM in case you need advise on future warranty claims. Anyways I made a post about the broken lock nut a month ago and Brian a1712 responded that he had the same issue. Well after Shimano said they wont warranty my rod I PM'd Brian, who I don't even know, and he was generous enough to give me his info like name, number, and address. He even offered to have Shimano call him so he can explain what happened to his rod and maybe they can look up his account and see the reason for his replacement was the same issue as mine. Thankfully today Shimano called and said they thought over it and will warranty the rod. I even told them to call Brian so they realize I'm not the first one that has had a bad lock nut. They declined to investigate further. Even though they didn't have to call Brian it is good to know members are willing to help out others when in need of help. Brian does not know me at all and for his willingness to help me out I am forever thankful of that. Maybe one day I can repay that to another member. Great forum and great members we have here. My previous post in case anyone is curious to my defective lock nut. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/149726-what-can-i-do-about-this-rod/?hl=%2Bshimano+%2Block+%2Bnut 3 Quote
Kevin Beachy Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 After getting well over a hundred dollars worth of free things from bass resourcemembers, you would think that bassresource is best! Quote
DocNsanE Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 This community is awesome. I noticed a few people were offering to send that beginner bass fisherman some tackle in another post I read earlier today. Very touching. 2 Quote
pbrussell Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Those who think bass resource members are awesome, clearly haven't made their way over to the kansas city thread. Quote
bucky Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Been a non posting member for years. Spend my time reading the posts, articles, and watching videos. Soooooo much information, and helpful members. Thanks 1 Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted February 26, 2015 Super User Posted February 26, 2015 Brian is a good dude. Fished with him quite a few times last year. 1 Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 The community here is unique in it's own right, and darn near unheard of among forums. 2 Quote
bassguytom Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Maybe some world leaders should take up bass fishing. In unity there is strength. I'm always learning. 1 Quote
fisherrw Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 I had a good experience with Brian too. He sold me a bunch of stuff for 30 and it was worth WAY more than that. I'd also like to say a big thanks to our global monitors. For keeping this site a good place thanks again to every one 1 Quote
bassinnoobie Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 And relays to topics in less then5 minutes to BR members are the best Quote
Robeng Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Yes>>>even though I am new>>>hail to the monitor(s) as I have seen too many baloney forums with foul language, trolling people trying to start up stuff, politics!<that one to me did not belong, monitors that just gave up and quit, rip off people, bogus posts about foreign romance, etc. From what see this is a very good forum focused on Bass and appropriate relative forums. The members here appear sincere and very helpful to the experienced, novice, and those just starting out. Great information. Actually I have read Bassresource for 5 years (I think) and just joined yesterday. Glad I did. 1 Quote
cgs1967 Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 I'm new but was wondering when someone would realize I'm awesome. Lol Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted March 1, 2015 Super User Posted March 1, 2015 I can't tell ya'll how much I love BR. I have learned so much in the last year about fishing; particularly in the area of jigs. I've had members give me free stuff and send me thoughtful PMs. I have met some amazing people and love posting and trolling on here. I ain't leaving. Big thanks to everyone who makes this possible: Glenn, Fluke, Keri, 00Mod, RoadWarrior, J. Francho, and Bluebasser. If I'm forgetting anybody, let me know . Quote
a1712 Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I really appreciate the shout out. I bunch of YOU have helped ME more than you'll ever know. Brian. Quote
FrogFreak Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 The reason I love BR is that I now know there are people out there that are crazy about bass fishing just like me! Another neat aspect of BR is we can share in each others successes. Like Paul Mueller's second place finish in the Classic last year or Gene's recent deal with Alumacraft. Or simply someone's new PB. Great stuff guys! Quote
