ib_of_the_damned Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Looking to get another swimbait setup for smaller 6-7" or less swimbaits approx. 2oz and under, Fred's Magic Stick seems to fit the bill with the specs. Has anyone used this rod, has this rod, that could let me know if it is a good rod for this purpose? Thanks. Quote
born2fish94 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Have a buddy who swears by that rod, it will handle hollow body swimbaits pretty well Quote
born2fish94 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 He uses his for just about everything Quote
dam0007 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I have one. I have used it for deep 25ft + football jigs, 1/2 oz swim jigs and flipping with 1oz bullet in front of a brush hog. Rod simply performs. I also swung a 5lber in the boat with it and the rod handled it like a boss! Quote
Super User WRB Posted February 26, 2015 Super User Posted February 26, 2015 Excellent utility rod for lures to 1/2-3 oz. I use this rod for S-Wavers, rats, DD22 and big deep diving crank baits, frog rod etc. IG754F heavy model with Cardiff 300A reel. Tom Quote
ib_of_the_damned Posted March 1, 2015 Author Posted March 1, 2015 Thanks for the answers so far! What swimbaits do you guys throw on this rod? And does the rod handle weights slightly over 2oz? Quote
Super User WRB Posted March 1, 2015 Super User Posted March 1, 2015 Good rod for BBZ-1rat, 2 1/2 oz lure. Tom Quote
CumminsAngler Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Would the rod in discussion also work for punching grass and such? Quote
