cgs1967 Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 I just bought a gloomis IMX JWR rod and a Lews Tournament Pro to go on it. I have a GL2 but this is my first nicer gloomis. Cant wait to start slinging lures with it. I got them both for $394.00 shipped. Quote
cgs1967 Posted February 25, 2015 Author Posted February 25, 2015 Nicer gloomis? There all nice!True, but excited to try the new one out. I've heard it is much better than the GL2. Quote
Super User new2BC4bass Posted February 25, 2015 Super User Posted February 25, 2015 Congratulations. Very nice combo. My only Loomis is an older GL3 fly rod. I do have a Tournament Pro. I think it is safe to say that you will enjoy that combo immensely. Quote
kschultz76 Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Congrats new gear is always exciting. I think it's why I keep choosing new stuff to get even if I don't need it. Recently got a new rig myself and can't wait to fish it, but in south NJ the water is too solid still! Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 25, 2015 Super User Posted February 25, 2015 Did you check your state's regs? In Tennessee I am told it is illegal to mount a Lews on a G. Loomis. Just kidding of course. Congratulations on your new rig! 1 Quote
cgs1967 Posted February 25, 2015 Author Posted February 25, 2015 Lol. I was going with the trusted Shimano Chronarch but decided to get another Less. I will post pics when the rod and reel arrive next week. I could have got a glx for $50.00 more but tried to be practical and I'm sure the IMX will be great. Quote

You could have spent more and opted to stick to a modest budget for your tackle purchase? And you call yourself a bass fisherman?!?! Quote
Super User F14A-B Posted February 26, 2015 Super User Posted February 26, 2015 Oh lord, first you pass on a shimano and opt for a lews, typical noob mistake, then, then,! You opt out of a Glx for a imx, typical noob mistake! Please don't make these errors again in the future! Of course I'm teasing you, sort of.. Congrats on some fine equipment, I'm sure you will enjoy it! 1 Quote
Super User FishTank Posted February 26, 2015 Super User Posted February 26, 2015 Nice set up. Enjoy. This will be great set up for weightless senkos. Quote

cgs1967 Posted February 27, 2015 Author Posted February 27, 2015 I like Shimano so going to see if I can get my old Chronarch fixed somewhere. Quote
Jsnider88 Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 IMX rods are amazing. I have two that my dad gave me, and one is 7'0" heavy and the other is 6'6" mh. I love my IMX rods. I don't know specially what they would be classified, say mag bass, or jig & worm rod. They just say the power, action, line, and weight, and IMX. You'll love that rod though Quote
HookdUP Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 Right now I have a ci4 a and a scorpion and a micro magic pro pitching rod I can't wait to be allowed to use by the whether SO I KNOW. What it's like Quote
