Jaderose Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Anybody ever use the water or oil from canned tuna to scent their baits. For the life of me, I can't see why this wouldn't work. Sure it would stink but I would think in a way that bass would like. Any thoughts? Quote
Super User J Francho Posted February 25, 2015 Super User Posted February 25, 2015 Try it and report back. Quote
bassguytom Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 I've tried it and only caught celery and onions when I was throwing it in the salad. 1 Quote
plumworm Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Try it in July when it is 90+ in the shade. I'm sure it will work then. Then you can call it fly bait instead of bass bait. Quote
sprint61 Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 YUCK to your idea lol. But I always enjoy a good tuna salad. Quote

matuka Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 I've tried it and only caught celery and onions when I was throwing it in the salad. But what if you caught celery and onions when using it as a scent on a plastic worm? Quote
Super User scaleface Posted February 25, 2015 Super User Posted February 25, 2015 I've used the jelly from veenie weenies . Quote

Super User Master Bait'r Posted February 25, 2015 Super User Posted February 25, 2015 Not while there's jars of bacon grease in my fridge. I shudder to imagine the smell during those long summer months should TUNA OIL spill in the boat... Bacon on the other hand, well that's another story! Quote

I shudder to imagine the smell during those long summer months should TUNA OIL spill in the boat... Bacon on the other hand, well that's another story! That's funny! Just this past weekend I was telling my wife that I might try using the grease from that morning's breakfast bacon like MegaStrike. Quote
