Bought a new rod for crappie fishing and am looking for suggestions for a reel. It is a St.Croix panfish series 6'9" ultra light. What size reel and what brand. Needs to be under$100.00.

A 30 or 40 series reel should work well.

I`m big on Pflueger spinning reels.

My setup is 6'6" rod,40 reel with 8 lb braid /leader. Its casts great.

I use a 1000 sized shimano Sedona spooled w/ 6lb seagur red label.

It's a great little reel!

Pfluegar President 6920. You could even go with the Trion in the same size if you wanted to save a little money. The Shimano Sahara 500 or 1000 would be a good option too. I guess I didn't realize they did away with the 750 size? Glad I didn't get rid of any of mine!

I was in love with the 1500s, such a shame to see them go

I've got the 6920 President on my St. Croix Premier 6' L & UL; my favorite setup.

I have a President 6920. As soon as this d**n ice is gone I'll have to try it on my new rod. Love that reel. Might have to get another.

A 7'0" ml with an old mitchell 308. Comes in handy when the bass shut down.
