Boat Cover

I bought a new to me 21' stratos, my first glass bass boat! It's in winter storage now but it will be kept outside during fishing season my garage is too small for a boat that size. So now I'm looking for a good quality cover for it. I've looked into the bps brand ones but read bad reveiws about their quality. Anybody know good ones to look at? Thanks a lot

I had one of the trailerable bps covers on my last boat. I have no complaints about it. It went with the boat to the new owner.

Any cover I had on a boat outside long term......I would also put a tarp over the cover to slow the damage to the cover.

I have heard the sun will kill a boat cover.

I was going through about one BPS so-called "trailerable" cover about once a year.  I finally gave up and had a custom cover made.  No more seams ripping apart because the "trailerable" cover was flapping wildly in the wind.

Thanks for the replys guys. I was looking at bass pros selection online and am looking at the Classic accessories dryguard cover. Anybody have experience with classic accessories covers?

I've got one of the Cabelas "trailerable" covers and it works ok.  It doesn't fit perfect - but it fits well enough.  You need to leave enough room in the straps so that it is adjustable, i.e. maybe I have the pro pole in the front and maybe the sit down seat.  Maybe I have the seat installed in the back deck and maybe I don't.  You can tighten up the straps so that it fits very snug.  If you let it sit in the motel parking lot all day, when it is raining too much to even go out, there will be some puddling issues.   A little electric pump takes care of that.   Deal with the straps flapping in the wind by duct taping them against the hull.  Works for me.  The farthest I've ever trailered the boat under these conditions is around 200 miles.

Aurora covers are the finest you can get. Mine fits my Bullet like glove.

 Generic boat covers are not for all occasions.  Find a good canvas shop in your town.  Tell them where your boat spends  most of its time.  They should direct you to the best option.

A quality cover will protect your investment when sitting in storage and when trailering. The cost of such a cover is well worth every penny regardless of the cost of the boat it protects.

Yep, I'm about to order a new one...My current Aurora cover has lasted over 10 years.  

 

They custom make the cover for your specific model and features.

Thanks for all the advice guys, I'm going to look into aurora for sure. It's defenitly worth the price, I'm planning to have this boat for a long time, just didn't know where to look for a good cover. Thanks again everybody

Just another thought cuz I've had my share of covering problems. If you will be trailering with your cover on get the best you can afford. As you know they aren't cheap. Aurora or Deans. come to mind. Keep it only for trailering or away trips. If used for everyday/all day storage, yes the sun and elements will ruin it in short time. For everyday storage at home, a decent canvas cover with a draw rope covered with a good, but still replaceable tarp should cover it.

Ive got the bps ratchet canvas cover its about 400 but is well worth it and is heavy duty and has held up well. There like anything if u want quality u gotta pay for it
