seanskie Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 After taking apart my reel and cleaning all the parts i'm having an issue reassembling. The Roller Clutch Inner Tube that slides on the shaft into the key washer keeps popping out of position. I make sure the sleeve slides into the notches that are in the washer. I then put on the side plate where the roller clutch bearing slides over the tube. I place the 2 drag washers () the brass washer, the star drag nut and spring which i screw down to the washers and then finally the star drag and handle. I try reeling after everything put back together i get a clicking noise. I'm not sure but i think the sleeve pops out of position if that's even possible with the washers and nut in place. At first i thought the clicking noise might be the clutch pawl but that seems ok. Any thoughts would be very helpful. Thank you. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Your problem isn't with the roller clutch / AR. It's most likely the redundant AR dog. The ears should be pinched together to lightly grab the ratchet, then installed onto the post. If you continue to have trouble send it in and I'll take care of it. Quote
zachb34 Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 If what you're talking about is the AR pawl, I believe you can remove those without any negative effects since its just a backup to the AR bearing. Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Why remove a feature that you paid for though, redundant or not? They aren't that hard to adjust and maintain properly. Quote
