Making a bondo mold isn't hard.   All you need is a non stick pan some baits some glue and some bondo.

Just to clarify, the above pic is of fiberglass resin not bondo.  This resin happens to be made by the company named "Bondo" but actual "bondo" is different than fiberglass resin. :)   "Bondo" in general is "body filler"

Guys,  I can't find that article that I did on the mold making that I did.  My mold wasn't made out of Bondo but it was made out of Durhams water putty.  It was a lead mold.  If you want a plastic mold the guy above is on the right track.  Another good option would be RTV Silicone which is what several companies use ie lurecraft for their plastic molds.

anyone ever try a 2 sided resin mold?  If so what did you use to keep the halves from sticking together?

You could probably use with Vaseline like you use for plaster molds, I'm not sure though.  Wait for the first layer to dry, then smear the Vaseline over everything then pour the second layer.

spray silicone, you can get it at Wal-mart in the auto section

or PVA, poly-vinyl-alcohol.  It's a mold release that I used to use when doing glass work on custom car installs.
