At this years Calssic Dobyns introduced the Fury series rod. Priced @ $109 and will be available in May. I like the look of it and hopefully it fishes just as good. Cork grip with eva butt grip.

I'll definitely be buying one of those for myself. I'll probably get a spinning rod setup since I do need one to start dock skipping around that time of year. The bright side is that's my birthday so my wife can't even argue with me. Thank you Dobyn!

That $100-125 price range is getting seriously tough to choose!

I got to check it out at the expo today. Seems to be a nice rod. They are running a deal today if you buy a champ rod you get a free fury mailed to you

Looks sexy... but can it compete with the ***??

Well we won't know until May. Personally I don't like the *** due to the trigger on the reel seat. It digs into my ring finger. Nice blank though.

Do you know if this applies to website orders as well?

Sort of the same color scheme as used on the Okuma Helios. Should be interesting if they will put this rod under their usual warranty program. Not sure if I will try one or not. Not a fan of the color scheme and if it fishes below the Savvy series it would be a deal breaker.

Glad I finally got to see one. I heard about it from a few guys that are close with dobyns and Gary.  If they make a decent crankbait rod I'll grab one, if not i'm buying another champion.

. I'll be trying it out in May. I'm also buying the new gloomis. I'll be writing a review on them. I'll let you know how they are ;)

May is the new date? They were talking April last I heard, that sucks I dont want to wait until then.

I like the color green so it appeals to me. Also the price tag. I have a few Dobyns that I got really good deals on but if it wasn't for the deals I don't think I'd of ever tried them out. I was perfectly happy fishing my endurances but they're gone now and I need to find a new rod that I like. Hopefully this one will be it.

My source isn't exactly what I'd consider top class reliable so it could be released sooner than May. I'm just going off what I've heard. If anyone has any information as far as the release date please let us know.

I'll be a devil's advocate here : I would not get too excited yet - why would Dobyns want to hurt sales of the Savvy series with a rod that had performance well above it's price point  ? That said , many believe the Savvy series to be merely "ok" and better to save for the Champion series which is the sweet spot of the Dobyns rod line up . Another concern would be economics - mainly economies to scale in production ... Can Dobyns contend against the likes of Abu Garcia ,Shimano , Okuma , *** , St. Croix , etc.  at their own quality vs. quantity vs. price point game ? Don't get me wrong - I hope Dobyns knocks the $100 rod category out of the park ! I'm just suggesting there is some stiff competition in this $100 segment already and those OEM's I listed sure aren't going away any time soon !

My Savvy felt dead so I'm not holding my breath. It was nice for moving baits though. Quite balanced

This is my feeling.  I fished it and it was a dead stick, unless Dobyns figured something out...I am not holding my breath.  Although Dobyns definitely could've figured something out and we have a new contender.  Which would be a win for all anglers.  This would mean the Savvy series probably is in the running to get replaced soon as who would want one if the Fury was that much better.

I do like the color green but I don't even like Dobyn's top of the line rod's so I might have to pass on this one.
