DirtyDeuceGoose Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I'm gonna need the whole line up as mentioned earlier it's reminiscent of the flat rap... One of my personal favorites. I have a jerkbait tied on all year long and this just adds another weapon to my arsenal. Quote
bassguytom Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 I hope Ike kills at the classic with it. It looks great to me and you can never have enough jerkbaits. Quote
bassinyea Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 From listening to Ike talk lately about the classic he sure has been talking up hair jigs a lot. With as cold as the weather is going to be at the classic I think that there are gonna be a lot of guys fishing hair jigs. I am sure jerkbaits and regular jigs are going to be getting in on some action too though. Quote
punch Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Dick's has a BOGO 50% off going on right now on all lure's, and they are doing pre-orders of the Shadow Rap under it. http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=59121346&ab=Banner_Fish_Rapala_Shadow_Raps Seems like a good deal. ABW Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Tag says field and stream (dicks) Didn't see that in the pic.. thanks! Quote
massrob Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 I need these and I needed them yesterday. Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 19, 2015 Super User Posted February 19, 2015 From what I understand the bait is being introduced at the Classic. The pros will tell us they used it during the tournament. Not that the caught anything on it; just that they used it. Stay tuned. The ads will start coming with photos of the pros in the Classic with the bait in the fish's mouth or just advertising BS so we all run out and buy 10 of each color. The Bait Monkey awaits you. Quote
Jsinkic Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Hey, I haven't really been a huge fan of Rapalas tackle, I mean we all have our favourites but this Jerkbait has caught my eye! Great action and a lot of great colours. What do you guys think about it? I'm really liking the Deep diving one (4-8ft). My favourite colours are Bud, Ghost and Albino shiner. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x76REd35e2E J Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted February 19, 2015 Super User Posted February 19, 2015 I held one a month or so ago and I gotta say the colors were impressive. Definitely a cool bait from what I saw. Quote
MassBass Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Rapala sure is doing a good job hyping this thing up. Its just a jerkbait! 1 Quote

Ginosocalbass Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 I like the shallow version, it could end up replacing alot of my craving for the ever rare Daiwa TD1091SP. The price point makes it even better. Ill pick up a few and give them a shot Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted February 19, 2015 Global Moderator Posted February 19, 2015 They look like they have a similar profile to a slender pointer and come in a deeper diving version, I'll be trying some. Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted February 19, 2015 Super User Posted February 19, 2015 I picked up 4 of the regular and 2 of the deep versions yesterday from Field and Stream. I must say they look impressive in person. High quality, colors look great. and the factory hooks don't need replaced. Based on the action I've seen of it on Youtube, I'm sure it will catch fish. Last spring, I did really well on the BX Minnow. I like how this lure is essentially the same concept, but with 3 hooks and it's a slow sinker. 1 Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted February 19, 2015 Super User Posted February 19, 2015 This is the Bud color in a deep version, up close. I was really impressed with this color whenever I saw it in person. I'm curious if putting a hook size smaller on these would make them suspend or slow rise? 4 Quote

Thanks for the picture of the Bud color, I was interested by it but I wasn't sure if it was going to be too bright and now I know I'm getting that color!!! I'm also getting the Ghost, Albino, and Moss Back Shiner patterns, these are going to be really good. Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted February 19, 2015 Super User Posted February 19, 2015 Maybe I'll take some more pictures of all the colors tonight. The carbon color is actually pretty neat in person. I think it will work well in dirty water, or overcast days, where you kind of want the bait to give a "shadow" in the water, for a lack of better terms. The colors I got were: carbon, yellow perch, blue back herring, purpledescent, blue ghost, and bud. The mossback shiner color looked really good in the store, and I debated on getting it as well. If these end up doing well, I'm sure I'll be picking more up and will grab a mossback. Quote
wisconsin heat Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Those colors are really impressive, Rapala has always been hit or miss for me, Some of their lures are lights out, others I don't like the concept of. I agree with massbass that Rapala is doing a good job hyping up a regular jerkbait, but I am intrigued by the look of quality on this lure, if the price point is good, or if I find some locally on sale I might pick one up to try out. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted February 19, 2015 Super User Posted February 19, 2015 That Moss Back Shiner color is extremely effective on the Sub walk for smallies here. So much so that it's The Only color of that bait I fish - which practically never happens. I like that perch looking job there as well. A-Jay Quote

My problem has always been getting Jerkbaits down deep so I'm hoping with the slow sinking on this it will help keep the bait deep when jerked Quote
rboat Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 I wonder if you took the middle hook off it it would suspend or rise slowly. I always find 3 treble hooks as overkill. If the middle hook was removed would it change the action??? The do have my interest, I guess I will have to pick up one or two. Quote
pigeonlake Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 http://instagram.com/p/zS_uUQO7Z1/ is it just me or does the hook look like it was layed in the fishes mouth. Quote
