I'm surprised this isn't a pinned topic already so here we go let's get it started! Note these rods and reels do not have to be a combo just your favorite. Three rod choices three reel choices. What are your favorite by weight class?

Rods for under 150$(+/-)?

Reels for under 150$(+/-)?

Rods for 200-330$(+/-)?

Reels for 200-330$(+/-)?

Rods for 350$+?

Reels for 350$+?

This topic does include baitcasters/spinners and both sides of the rod. To be helpful please try to explain a little about your choices and post a link to the item. I'll tag it so hopefully please can search for this for a long time to come. Just an idea and let's see how it goes. I'll post mine once I get to a computer to copy links. Good fishin' boys.

Duckett Magic rod. I like all the weight this rod puts into a small price tag. Solid company, quality product.

Reels for under 150$(+/-)?

Pflueger presidential spinning rod. I prefer spinning at the lower price tag due to the added smoothness you get for the price and the ease of use.

Rods for 200-330$(+/-)?

Dobyns extreme casting rod. I actually just ordered one of these for myself. I've used one many many times previously. Light weight extremely versatile and functional and sensitive. With a price tag of 330$ dollars this is my favorite rod on the market.

Reels for 200-330$(+/-)?

Shimano chronarch ci4. Quality product and highly durable. Extremely easy to cast and it throws a lot of light and heavy lures with ease.

Rods for 350$+?

I have a feeling this rod will be on repeat if this topic is continued and goes as well I hope. The g looms nrx. Lightest weight, high durability most sensitive rod I've ever felt. I love it a ton but I would better at 550$

Reels for 350$+?

Abu Garcia revo beast smooth, high quality with a seamless use. Extremely dependable and reliable. I've been trying to talk my wife into letting me buy one since I used it for the first time.

I'll post the rest of the links and information shortly, I'm struggling with this darn ipad.

Just search $100 rod or $100 reel. It comes up about once a week it seems.

I was trying to create a post that covers all classes of rods and reels. Not just 100 dollar area in one place. Without jumping through fifteen topics.

Haven't had my dobyns dx742sf for very long but I can already tell it's going to be one of my favorite rods. Perfectly balanced, sensitive, good backbone with a perfect tip for finesse presentations. Unfortunately Im not a fan of dobyns styling, otherwise it'd be the perfect spinning rod

I admire your enthusiasm but I doubt you'll accomplish much. Even if it was to become a sticky hardly anyone looks at those first. They just post "best $100 rod" or what have you. I'll play along for sake of the thread.

Don't own any but if I bought one it would be a Megabass more than likely.

Reels for 350$+?

Mostly the same as $200-330 class but it would be paying retail prices. A few Megabass and Steez variants would be in this class.

Own 7 Redbones, not only my favorite rod under $100 but the best rods I have ever owned including ones 3 times the price.  Have 3 Steller lites, very good too.  Never an issue with any of these rods, some of my Redbones are approaching 10 years in age.

I have 2 favorite combos.

Abu Soron 40 on a 7'6 med Redbone, mainly used off the beach.

Quantum Cabo 40 on a 7'6 mh Steller lite, my tarpon set up.

Most of us are going to be rather limited on how many different brands we have used.  Guess what your favorite rod company will be if you only have St. Croix rods.  Personally I have a hard time picking just one favorite.

Rods under $150:  Love my Fenwick Smallmouth rods (less than $75 shipped) and a Custom RX7 Rainshadow.  Purchased some Tatula rods after it got too cold for me to fish.  I have a feeling at least one of them will be among my favorites.  A Powell Endurance 723C was purchased about the same time as the Tatulas.  I'm liking it as well.  Picked up a Redbone last year while visiting Florida (it stays there) and got to fish it a couple weeks.  Very nice rod for the money.

Reels under $150:  Wow.  Too tough.  Several favorites are a Tatula Type R, older gold colored Carbonlites, Fuegos, Curado 51Es and Chronarch 200B.

Rods $200-$330:  Never paid $200 or more for a rod although I have a few that listed in that range.  A 7'6" HF Zillion, older black 7'2" MHF Cumara, and....surprise...a 6'10" HF Quantum Superlite.

Reels $200-$330:  Love my Zillion 50th Anniversary and Purple Alphas.

Rods and reels $350-?:  Too rich for my blood.  PX-L listed in this range, but still sits in it its box with no line yet.
